Product Overview

For home, shop or general purpose welding needs, this compact welder has more than enough capability to get the job done. With both stick and TIG welding capability, the smooth DC power of this inverter machine is impressive when compared to older heavier transformer AC/DC stick welders on the market. In TIG mode, it will weld steel, stainless, nickel, and almost any metal except aluminum. Arc performance is among the best in the industry. It comes complete with a carry case, along with the welding torches, cables, work clamp, regulator and more. It is ready to weld if you have the power, and shielding gas to weld with TIG. (Tungsten, foot pedal and filler not included). The High Frequency start and the automatic gas solenoid give you the ability to make professional, high quality TIG weld without contacting the metal to strike an arc. If you want to weld stick, all you need is a package of your favorite welding electrodes and a power outlet close by. It will weld at 125-Amp TIG (90-Amp stick) output on 120-Volt and really packs a punch operating on 240-Volt with 160-AmpTIG (160-Amp stick). It features a light-commercial class duty cycle of 35% at maximum rated Amp.

  • Compact IGBT inverter design includes carry case and accessories
  • Dual 120/240-volt capability with auto sensing voltage design
  • 15-160-amp welding capability on 240-volt (TIG/Stick)
  • 15-125-amp (TIG)/5-90-amp (stick) welding capability on 120-volt
  • Recommended to weld up to 3/16 in. TIG in single pass
  • Easily welds with common stick electrodes such as 6013, 7014, 7018, 6011 up to 1/8 in. in diameter

It was not a UPS problem, the welder is in its own case inside the box and is not padded inside the case and just bounces around inside the case for the entire trip. First welder has a gas flow problem and the front face was bent in. Second welder was beat up on top of welder with several big dents and as soon as it was powered on, the digital readout counted from 0 to 488 amps and then stuck at 488. I have owned several Everlast welders with no problems but this adventure has made me buy another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Welder I use this welder primarily for TIG welding. The high frequency start and gas solenoid is a boon for anyone doing a lot of TIG work. Actually, the gas solenoid is an absolute must for anyone even remotely serious about TIG welding frequently. The argon is automatically started and stopped by the welder which saves on gas and helps protect the weld from contamination. The welder is also very compact and perfect for storing in the truck for remote fabrication or repairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jody’s welding pick I saw the PowerArc 160sth being reviewed by Jody on Welding Tips and Tricks and knew that I simply had to have one. After getting one and using for a while welding things up with TIG and stick I can confidently say I made a very good decision. This welder has fully lived up to my expectations. You can’t get better than this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features! The high frequency on this welder really sets it apart from anything else. I can stick weld and TIG weld with so much flexibility. Oh and it has a gas solenoid too. This allows the welder to start and stop the gas flow automatically when you are tig welding. This is very convenient and helps prevent leaking all of your argon after a weld because you don’t have to remember to shut off the valve at the torch. Overall and excel lent welder.

I am learning to TIG weld and the machine is perfect for that use. The stick welder function has not been used yet, but I am sure it would work perfectly. The HF start function makes learning very easy and after a month of use i find no problems with it. A very good machine and not too expensive for a start in TIG welding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great price for a welder that has two types of welding processes Package came all in one piece, decent case, and all the parts were there. It's a great stick welder! I have never tig welded before so I cannot judge how well of a tig welder it is. I have used it on a couple projects so far and it has yet to fail me. Great price for a great compact welder. Love the high frequency setting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good welder bad regulator I am sitting here wring this when I am supposed to be welding. The regulator or solenoid in the welder won't supply argon. The first time I used this machine it worked fine, the second time it failed, I do think it's just the cheap regulator they sent with it. If it turns out to be that I will amend this review,
