Product Overview

The PowerPRO 164 has it all, in one convenient package. With it, you can TIG weld, stick weld, or even plasma cut. It’s ideal for applications where space and budget are limitations. It also is ideal for portable repair with the 120-Volt/240-Volt dual voltage design feature. You can even TIG weld aluminum, with the 160-amp AC/DC output. You’ll be able to easily cut up to 3/8 in. and sever up to 5/8 in. With stick you’ll be able to weld with any size electrode up to 1/8 in. in diameter. The compact size and relatively light weight is due to its advanced IGBT inverter design. All functions are easily accessible with a flip of the switch, and a changeover of the torches and gas supply. AC Frequency and AC balance control extends the capability of the AC TIG feature. It includes nearly everything you need to get started welding and cutting. You’ll need filler metal, Argon shielding gas for TIG, Stick welding electrodes for stick, and an air compressor capable of 4.5 CFM at 90 PSI for plasma cutting. Helmet and PPE are not included.

  • 5 year warranty makes it ideal for home hobbyists, portable repair, and lights all purpose use
  • An AC/DC TIG, DC stick, and plasma cutter, all in one unit
  • Cut up to 3/8 in. with 40-Amp of power
  • Weld up to a maximum of 3/16 in. in a single pass with 160 amp TIG or 130-amp stick capability (240-volt)
  • Dual voltage 120-volt/240-volt uses auto sensing technology so no rewiring is necessary
  • AC frequency and AC balance control for advanced AC TIG capability

Answer:
yes, plasma cutter does work on 110v, but you lose about 1/2 cutting power, and can only go up to 20-25 amps. that means instead of 1/2", you will only cut 1/4".

Answer:
well, the spec sheet says on 110V it draws 25 Amps regular / 31 Amps max... so, 2K watts may not be enough.

Answer:
well, the welder only needs ~4.5K-5K watts. so if your air compressor needs 5K watts or less, i don*t see why not.

Answer:
None of our welders have compressors built-in. They all have gas / air line input / output connections. As far as what*s included, pretty much all you need to start welding / cutting: *ground clamp, stick holder, argon reg, plasma air filter, gas hoses, TIG torch, TIG foot pedal, plasma torch, consumables starter kits, for both, TIG and plasma (no tungsten), and a pigtail adapter for 110/220V input*.

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great welder for the price! Packaged well, works great! I really like the 17 series torch as consumables are easy to find. May 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great welder for the garage Welder works great and packaging is nice. Everything you need to start welding besides tungsten, filler metal, and gas. Some poorly translated assembly instructions and not much in the way of operating instructions, specifically for the way it displays settings while using the pulse feature. Extremely Low amperage tig (20 or less) is not quite as good as Red or Blue but gets the job done.Otherwise it offers good performance to keep up with your level of ability. November 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful plasma cutter and welder The Everlast 164 plasma cutter and tig welder combo has come in really handy around the house and on the farm and the best part about it is that it doesn’t take a lot of space and is light enough to move it around. Cutting steel and aluminum is pretty much point and shoot and I can cut pieces that otherwise could not have with a cutting wheel and grinder. Tig welding took a bit of getting used to because I haven’t done it since taking a course a few years back but it all came quickly once I got some hood time. My wife has accused me of breaking stuff just so that I can weld them back up. April 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Price and Excellent Product I have used a lot of welders in the past and this one is as smooth and consistent as the best of them. I really like the fact that I could buy a welder with a plasma cutter for not much more than just the welder alone. I especially like the fact that I saved a bundle over getting anything comparable in blue or red. More money in my pocket and a great welder and plasma cutter in the garage. October 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All around great machine. You can not beat the price. Name brand Tig machines start at the price of this combo unit. I had never Tig welded before, and after a few hours I was making nice welds. It welds aluminum and stainless very nice, and the plasma cutter is great! December 31, 2013
