What is the amperage input required?

is the foot pedal variable amperage control or just on and off for starting the weld current?

Asked by: church
Variable amperage control. The machine does come with a torch switch which is just on/off. I removed the torch switch as the torch is a #26, which is large in of its self, so the addition of the torch switch made it a bit too big for me.

Can it be run in 110v if needed for small jobs?

Asked by: jrshrout
The machine is a 240V. When using the TIG and AC or DC I have seen this machine weld two utility razor blades, cutting edge to cutting edge, together as well as weld beer cans together end to end. So, the TIG can be set to start as low as 5amps. So, in my view you do not need 110V...this machine will weld really small material.

How long is the outlet cable and what gauge is it?

Asked by: jrshrout
Power cable is probably 3ft. I quickly made my own 240V extension cord to a could drag the machine/welding cart to all points in my garage......I think I made the cord 15' and the torch cable is pretty long so I can easily reach all parts of my shop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Welder and plasma cutter for the price of a welder only I am quite pleased with this welder and plasma cutter. I was going to buy a welder only machine but then realized that this machine wasn’t much more and would get me a plasma cutter too. I like the fact that the air pressure gauge is on the front and is easy to read. Switching over between plasma cutting and tig welding is quick and easy to do. This machine is outclassing my skills but I hope that this situation won’t last much longer as I am practicing pretty much every evening now. Welding has really grown on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Swiss Army Knife For Metal Fabricators If you are like me and are a weekend warrior or metal fabricator your search for the ultimate productivity tool is over. This Everlast unit has everything you need to cut raw aluminum and steel and weld it up into a master creation. The plasma cutter is top notch with a Trafimet plasma torch and 50 amps of cutting power for fast clean cuts. The welder is both AC and DC and is capable of a full 200 amps. I love how it is all in one machine with all of the controls in a well laid-out format. Excellent machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everlast Powerpro 205 plasma cutter and welder The Everlast PowerPro 205 has been a true gift for me. It has lots of power and all of the features I need for fabrication. I never thought I would be much of a fan of plasma cutting but it has saved me so much time that I now can’t think about not having one. The welding functions are really well laid out and work good for everything I need them to do.

I just did not need a much machine as he did. The machine is very easy to setup and operate. I would recommend, for new TIG welders such as myself, to leave all the factory settings in place save adjusting the Amperage for the thickness of the metal you are welding. I did remove the torch switch really quickly as I felt for me it was to cumbersome. The machine will require a pure Argon bottle. I tried to run a 25/75 mixed air bottle on the machine and that was not the best of ideas. Out of the box the machine is far nicer than anything I have ever had in my shop. However, I do have to tell potential owners of this machine that I felt that the #26 torch is a big large. So, I upgraded to a #9 flex head torch. I have also replaced the OEM collet, collet body and torch lens with a "stubby torch gas lens" which can be purchased pretty much any where, but I went through Colier is awesome. Transitioning from TIG to Plasma cutter was real easy. Only thing I did not like is one has to disconnect the Argion supply line and attach the air line to the back of the machine. In the future I am going to try and fabricate a "T" on the back to machine with valves, which 'should" allow me to keep the Argon and Air hooked up to the machine and transition from Argon to air with a switch of a valve. That being said....the plasma cutter is awesome! You need to have a compressor that can maintain about 70psi, but I have a little Bosch 6gal compressor and as long as I am not making lengthy cuts the compressor keeps up. I have not tried the arc welder aspect of the machine just yet but all of the reviews on this machine by "Mr TIG" on YouTube point to a great performance. I would definitely recommend this machine! In the future I plan to buy the Everlast 240V water cooler and a water cooled torch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MaintManager The welder was delivered on time and complete. Worked well out of the box, and had a good set of consumables with it. I would add a vendor list for parts
