CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great saw Was a little hesitant to purchase this saw based on several bad reviews. Most reviews of the older version were positive but supposedly changes in the design attributed to the bad reviews. The first thing I did was to see if the saw could cut good 90 degree cuts (a problem with one of the reviews) After minor adjustments the saw performed perfectly !. Cuts were clean spot on when tested with a machinists square. Ran test cuts on 1/4 steel, some 8020 Aluminum extrusion and 2x6 wood. Cuts were above my expectations. And yes, you can pick up the metal from the cut immediately; both the steel and the aluminum were cool to the touch. Saw is loud but no more than any other saw. I'm not going to be using this commercially so the limited duty cycle isn't a limitation. I highly recommend this saw. April 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My first use of the Evolution Rage 2. I cut a piece of 2 1/2" x 1/4" aluminum, I got only slight feedback from the handle. It cut easily through the part with less than 1 degree of angle over the 2 1/2". I then cut 6 pieces of 2" x 2" x 1/8" steel angle 6" long. Again, the saw breezed through the angle iron. My feel for the saw is that when you don't expect extreme precision you should be getting exactly what you paid for. Anyone who expects extreme precision should be cutting on a lathe or mill. For general construction where extreme precision is not the order of the day, this saw is at the least, very good to excellent. May 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Get it! I have one of these and love it. I paid around $250 a year ago. It chows through rebar, tubular steel and other metals with ease. It typically passes through 5/8 rebar in 5-6 seconds, leaves the metal cool to the touch, and as close to square as I can measure. Some of the best money I've spent on my home metal shop. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good saw, much cleaner than abrasive wheels and fewer sparks The saw works great, I've cut both mild steel and aluminum with no issues. The things I'd change, A) the vise likes to change angle when you snug up the work, even with the hold down bolt cranked tight. A better locking system would be nice. B) The angle indications are hard to read because they're the same dark color as the base. Some contrasting paint in the lines would be really helpful. I haven't used it enough to comment on blade life as yet. May 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very impressive!! I had been shopping for quite some time, debating which purchase would be best for me. Late one evening I watched a past episode of Street Outlaws. Jeff Lutz was fabricating a set of headers on the Murder Nova and I happened to notice he was using this particular saw to make all of his cuts. I immediately went to my Home Depot app and ordered one for myself. Hands down the best saw on the market for your money!! May 12, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well Good price on sale. A lot of vibration when in use. Looked like it had been banged around a fair amount in shipping so I don't know if its normal or not. Works well. Way better than an abrasive cut off saw. We'll see what I think when I have to replace the blade. April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saw review I prefer this style saw over an abrasive blade style due to little to no sparks and a much better edge after cut. The material is not near as hot after cutting. Have only used to cut steel at this point. Plenty of power, fast, clean cut. Will see on blade durability after more use. April 19, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Aluminum collects in notches and prevents cutting I use this cut 1.5" diameter aluminum 6061 and shavings build up inside the notches of the blade until it can no longer cut. You then have to manually pry the aluminum nuggets out of the blade... September 17, 2013
