Product Overview

Top of the line German Hobby Greenhouse (7 ft. 8 in. W x 7 ft. L x 6 ft. 11 in. H; 54 sq. ft.). Most efficient design for Year-Round use. Special sloped roof provides maximum head room, but prevents snow build-up; hail bounces off and the design allows heavy winds to blow over the unit. Made with German precision engineering from heavy duty aluminum profiles and 8 mm and 10 mm UV coated Twin-wall Polycarbonate Glazing. Offers the best insulation in its category, R-factor: 3.0-3.2. Uses less energy than other hobby greenhouse to heat. The unique design of the greenhouse has the best ratio between framing and polycarbonate panels, which allows for maximum light transmittance and less moving shade. Comes with an oversized rear wall window (30 in. W x 42 in. H), 1 oversized Roof Window (40 in. W x 24 in. H) with Automatic Opener, a Extra-large Dutch-Barn style front door with lock (30 in. W x 72 in. tall). Also included: 2 full-length suspended shelves: 14 in. deep top-shelf, 25 in. deep bottom-shelf and 6 in. high aluminum base (to anchor the unit in the ground). One day to assembly (2 people required).

  • Well insulated German engineered greenhouse designed for growing fresh vegetables in the middle of winter
  • Oversized roof and rear wall windows along with the dutch door allow for maximum ventilation
  • Unique suspended shelving system provides extra strength and added growing and storage space
  • UV coated 8 mm and 10 mm thick polycarbonate glazing with 10-year warranty against manufacturer's defects

  • With a combination of strong materials and durable hardware, the RIGA is by far the strongest greenhouse under $5,000
  • Unique channel design of the aluminum components allows for simple slide and fit assembly, thus saving time and money and adding more strength
  • RIGA greenhouse comes complete with 2 full length shelves with unique suspended support system, oversized rear wall window with adjustment lever, large roof window includes automatic opener and heavy duty dutch barn door with key lockable door handle

Riga 7 ft. 8 in. W x 7 ft. L 2S Greenhouse is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Riga Rocks even in Duluth, MN We have had our Riga greenhouse thru a couple Northern Minnesota winters now. It has stood through bitter cold and blowing winds (that took down many trees!). Greens that finally freeze in late-December miraculously revive in mid-February for fresh spinach, kale, even romaine lettuce. In summer, we do tomatoes, cukes, peppers, all the things that being perched next to Lake Superior has made so difficult in the past. This is a very well-designed greenhouse; we assembled it with just two people. I recommend getting a third person to help. The assembly instruktions (poorly translated from German), are a bit of a challenge. But it does all go together, and stays together, for great growing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product, excellent customer service! I can't say enough good things about this greenhouse. Quality materials and careful engineering made for an investment that has increased my quality of life! The manual, because of the German/English language barrier, is confusing, but the videos provided were very detailed and got us through the construction process, even with some modifications we made. Best part was the excellent and super-responsive customer service. These folks want you to love your greenhouse and will help you through whatever questions arise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, well designed. This is a high quality greenhouse that can be erected without any special skills or tools. The included DVD is perhaps easier to comprehend than the written directions. I would highly recommend the kit that includes the foundation frame and the shelves. I installed a Southern Burner greenhouse heater which works very well, and is overkill for a structure this size. We use it mostly to start plants in the spring, but it is relatively easy to keep warm, should someone choose to grow all winter. Very pleased overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You're gonna like it! I've had the Riga greenhouse now for at least 4 years, no sign at all of any problems. It did go together very straightforward and I feel paying a little more for a quality product was a good choice. If we'd had the room, I sure would have gotten a larger one, but this does just fine. I did add a thermal opener for the back window, in addition to the roof vent, these things sure get hot in the summer, even with shade cloth. This is a quality product backed up by the quality company that imports them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best retirement present ever! I live in Downeast Maine and bought my Riga greenhouse 10 years ago. It provides vegetables and herbs from March through November. When some panels showed deterioration last year, I called Exaco and found that they were originally installed with the UV coating on the wrong side. Exaco sent me replacement panels just for the cost of shipping and said that the Riga now comes with UV coating on both sides. I think that is customer service "above and beyond!"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the right size My husband and I really love this greenhouse. We were looking for something that would fit in our small backyard yet give us enough space to grow seed starters. This greenhouse is very well made and we use just a small milk house heater thru the winter and it stays quite warm in there. We have had this for about 4 years and it has exceeded our expectations. We have quite hot summers where we live and the only parts that need replaced since we bought it is the extended arm for the gable end window to hold the window open and a couple of the flat panels that the seed trays sit on. We also love the automatic vent openers on the 2 windows, it saves a lot of running back and forth to open and close according to the weather, and the large black seed trays that came with it hold a lot of plants/seeds in a small area. Overall we are very happy with our purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect, extremely well made I show off my greenhouse frequently to visitors—and everyone is impressed. I also have a couple of high tunnels. The Riga greenhouse serves another purpose—I start every vegetable in the Riga. I can, for example, start tomatoes in February, so they are over two feet tall and very husky by the time they go outside in May (usually in one of the high tunnels). If you are growing seriously, you will want a Riga. They are super insulated, the solar opener works beautifully, and the houses are exceptionally well made and should last for years. My only quibble is that the written instructions seem to have been written by Google Translate into English. A friend who speaks German said that even the German was hard to figure out. I recommend watching the video that comes with the greenhouse at least twice before starting. That said, once it's together, you will enjoy it and depend upon it for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, well-made, everything I expected and more. I been enjoying my greenhouse for five years now. Right about now (November) the seed catalogs arrive, a favorite time of the year. Come January-February I'll begin my seed germinating in the greenhouse. A small oil-filled electric heater keeps the temps above freezing. Sometimes I overwinter hot pepper plants inside, too.
