Answer:
No. For most composting it is helpful for worms to have access to the compost pile so most do not come with bottoms. A closed bottom is not available for the WB160.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Quality The sides did not hold together very well. Some of the "dove tails" just wouldn't stay snapped together which caused small gaps allowing flies to lay eggs. Also, the openings in the bottom were super easy for the raccoons, rodents, squirrels and snakes to get in. and every morning there would be compost thrown out around the base of the bin. If you live in a more suburban area you may not have as many critters raiding at night but it is waaay more work than I care to tend every day. Looking for an above ground model next. March 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Goes together with no tools From the pictures I wasn't sure whether there were bottom openings on all four sides. There are - so it's easy to clean out finished compost. The composter seems sturdy enough and there are anchor holes at the bottom corners so it can be pinned to the ground. Unfortunately I assumed the composter had a bottom panel, with holes for worms to come in and out - but there is none. Users with rodent problems will therefore want to avoid using food scraps, as rodents can tunnel under the walls quite easily. September 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice! Perfect composter "I've now bought several of these as gifts to my kids. I had called the manufacturer to learn which type of plastic it is made of. Just know that its the type of plastic that holds up quite well in frigid winters. That's what I need up her. It takes just minutes to set up. I've seen fancier composters but this is inexpensive, fast, simple and just works." This is just what I was looking for. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on composter, The bin is made from re-cycled plastic (I like that especially). Great! November 17, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great gift! I bought this as a gift for my parents and they absolutely love it. It tucks away nicely into their garden and isn't very visible as to what it is. I have a rather large composter in my yard that looks like a garbage bin -- this one just looks sleeker, kind of like a storage bin. It also locks very well, which has kept critters away. They've reported that the composting soil is perfect and they've been able to grow vegetables with it. All around great product. February 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thermoquick 160 Composter After reviewing the selection Homedepot.com had for home composters, I decided on the Thermoquick. Delivery was speedy and when I opend up the package I was very surprised at the light weight of the product. Further, it was extremely easy to assemble without tools, instructions were clear and I was impressed with the quality fit of the pieces. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is into composting and who has a relativley small yard (I'm on half an acre). Great price and value. May 11, 2009
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good shape, but poorly made The sides and top snap on and when we put it together a part of the top snapped off, we're not even sure if we did it since we looked for the piece and couldn't find it. It would of been great if it was better made. May 30, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Meh. Not the best. It was easy to assemble, but squirrels easily ate the plastic doors off the sides allowing a family of snakes to live inside. The whole thing fell apart and wasn't easy to use without the side doors as animals kept taking my fruits and veggies before they could compost! April 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The product serves in intended purpose The composter is roomy. I look forward to using the mulch in my vegitable garden. I greatly appreciate the assistace from the local Home Depot in Poulsbo Washington. I was unable to assemble the composter so they did it for me wihout additional charge. January 2, 2013
