I was excited to get this unit when I ordered it based on the reviews, the reviews were awesome. However when it arrived there were loose screws and washers rattling in the all plastic housing. It appears that the holes are stripped out and why the loose screws fell out, most likely during shipping. Stripping is normally caused by over tightening the fastener in the brittle plastic housing. For the money spent vs the quality received, I would look elsewhere, this thing is built cheaply, the inside fan is cheap plastic, the heating element is cheap the knobs pop off.

I use it weekly! I make yogurt at least twice a month, fruit rolls ups, fruit/yogurt leather, and of course, dehydrate fruits and vegetables when in season. Then I use my Food Saver to seal up the dehydrated fruits and veggies for easy storage. And bonus, it warms up the utility room a little in the winter. I highly recommend the this product. I only wish it can come with some of the paraflex sheets. Be sure to buy some if you intend to do small pieces of product, or roll ups. It's also great for making stale cookies fresh again!

Functions fine, tomatoes took longer than expected but may have been too thick, thin tomato paste dried faster than expected with less racks in place, don't know about energy efficiency, how could one determine that? Unit seems too expensive for a bunch of plastic with a heater and fan but I'd buy it again. It's somewhat noisy but has a fan so it must be. Racks were scattered about as some others said but it was no problem to rearrange them.

Best dehydrator I've ever owned. I don't have to rotate trays anymore. I can do a pound of burgered deer meet from the jerky shooter pre tray. Easy clean up after your finished. Great purchase!

I bought a 3000 series quite a while back like 10 years ago or more, I am not knocking this one down but look out they do break. I was just making jerky and as I was putting in a tray I just happened to miss track on of the trays and thats when I noticed it was broke on the bottom which I will fix when I am done with my jerky, it just has a crack below the door no big deal but if you can afford it buy the stainless one you will be glad you did. I am going to buy one of the stainless ones because I make a lot of jerky. I really don't think there is a better dehydrator out there I used to have a Nesco but in my book it is no good it is round, how can you make jerky on a round dehydrator.

I bought this dehydrator a few years ago (minus the timer) and my dad was borrowing it so much that I gave it to him for Christmas. I've really missed having my dehydrator around so I got myself a new one. I love this one even more because I can't over dry my food with the timer!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beeps Very nice dehydrator.
This is a nice and efficient dehydrator. I've done tons of apples and they are great. Have also dehydrated some peaches, apricots, beets, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and other things. All have turned out well. It is big so make sure you have the space for it, and it does make some noise with the fan. I have it on my laundry room counter so it is out of the way and if the noise is too much I can just close the door. Also be aware the area below the front door and along the sides will get wet near the beginning of the cycle so you want it on a waterproof surface or something that will not be damaged by the moisture. With the timer it is nice that I can just go to bed and know it will turn off at the right time.
