Answer:
It is recommended to attached acrylic mirror to a flat hard surface using any standard construction adhesive. Make sure to follow adhesive manufacturer's instructions on how to apply and spread to the sheet. You can also use standard "mirror clips or anchors" used to hang glass mirrors, however, acrylic is flexible and using this method could create slight distortion giving the mirror a "fun house" Read More

1. I am a teacher and am looking for a mirror material that I can cut into small mirrors ( 2" X 2.5") for example, that will be safe for children to use.
2. Children can make kaleidoscopes using 3, 3/4" X 8" pieces of mirror placed inside a cardboard tube. Can the acrylic be scored and folded? or would I have to tape the 3 pieces together, to make a triangle?

You can cut acrylic mirror using the handheld tool available in the stores and on homedepot.com or with a circular saw blade. If you use a circular saw blade you need to make sure that the sheet is clamped down securely so that it does not shift which could crack the sheet. Use a fine tooth (carbide if possible) blade. When cutting any plastic, do not remove the protective film on the sheet in an effort to minimize any scratching of the sheet. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by House of mirrors Like you're in a house of mirrors. Reflection within about a foot is clear but gets totally distorted beyond that. I wanted to mount them in our workout room. Their reflection was so warped it made us nauseous. I checked all 5 mirrors in the pack and they were all the same way. I even taped them to the wall as if they were mounted. This product can't be used as mirror. October 18, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by As mentioned in other reviews -- needs to be mounted on a solid, flat backing I used these mirrors for a home gym setup. I place the mirrors next to each other -- 2 across, 2 below. There is a funhouse effect with them even though I mounted them to 5/8 plywood with spray glue. And having them mounted side by side was a mistake. Perhaps that is a rookie move, but I don't get a solid reflection between the two mirrors. One mirror ends just above my knee, the next picks up the reflection near my waist. With all that said, the reflection quality is nice. I recommend using a single mirror by itself, and mounted on a very very flat surface. October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mirrors in the garden We have a lovely back yard garden but it is not very wide. I've dreamed of a large mirror on one tall fence but worried about glass. This acrylic mirror is the miracle solution. We simply attached the sheet to the wood fence with simple metal mirror attaching hardware. Then we added a rustic wood frame made out of pieces of barnwood. I'm now thinking of doing it on another area of our yard where there is a neighbors garage on our property line. Here I'm thinking of using an old salvaged wood window frame to cover the mirrored acrylic to make it look like a window into another garden. November 25, 2010
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor. Two of the five mirrors arrived damaged. They are extremely thin and must be attached to a hard surface to avoid a fun-house effect. May 29, 2012
