Answer:
Yes, for chickens that are at least 50 pounds. If you can't find them in that size check Jurrasic World! These would work for geese, not chickens!
And it won't keep a German Shepherd out, or any other determined animal (foxes, coyotes will easily get through this.

I think the chickens would get out after the second row, I would just use it and then still put a layer of chicken wire on it.

We are having a debate on the length of the fence at the store. As far as I read it is says that it is 47" tall and 330' long. But one person on here states that it is no where near 330 feet long. So who is right? Thank you.

I am considering using this or similar products myself to help contain my dog, (who is a husky, or malamute mix.
in regards to the lack of height issue that is a known issue with many dogs, (specifically mentioned on a "wolfdog" site I was reading the other day.)
with that said there are a couple solutions that do come to mind immediately.
option 1
go with a different product such as the mentioned "horse fence" in 5 or 6ft heights.
option 2 realize that many dogs will attempt to dig out of or jump over your fence, and that the simplest solution is to plan to install multiple pieces to gain more "effective" height.
by this I mean for instance you could instead of stringing this fence flush #or slightly buried# along the ground instead string your first section ~1'-2' above the ground, then run another piece that overlaps ~6" to a foot over the 1st pass then at ground level is bent to go further "into" the enclosure along the ground making a L shape this would allow 2 4' courses to become ~5'-6' of effective height of course if you needed even more height another 4' course would allow for an ~3 additional feet of height bringing the total up to ~8-9 ft.
the obvious disadvantage to this method, is it can dramatically increase your effective cost per foot of fence IE 4' high x 330 ft for the price per roll if your project required 200 ft of fencing then 1 roll would provide the "fabric" for the project with some left overs, 2 passes effectively doubles the cost, and 3 passes triples it. #plus the cost of the materials needed to "bind" the sections together. # Read Less

They only come in 4 ft lengths, but I would get it and just put a few layers of barbwire, or just wire on top.

Answer:
The Field Fence does not come taller than 47in. We recommend using Horse Fence (Home Depot skus 197713 is 5' high and 197725 is 6' high). The rolls are all 100' long versus 330' for Field Fence.

With 4"x4" holes, NO, it will not keep a raccoon out. If they can fit their head through, they'll be in your coop in a heartbeat.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love my wire fence. This size roll is dramatically less expensive/foot than the smaller rolls. This fencing is easy to handle and install. I cut my own posts and nailed it with U nails. Very economical and very effective. Now to add chicken wire around the bottom to keep the rabbits out of my garden. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Purchased to help contain my dogs So far so good. My dogs have stayed in the yard since I put the fence in. I put the fence inside another fence so I have two layers of protection. They were breaking through the first fence by itself. I also like the look of this new fence. Very clean and compact looking. It looks well made. April 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by well worth the investment I was very pleased for one to see this item online at the price it was. Buying it in the store didn't offer the options I needed. Free delivery to the neareast store was a big plus. The item is well put together and stronger then I even expected. A gentleman from the store was helpful to me, delivering it to me on a pallet and then assisting me in putting it in my truck. February 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Critter pass-thru BUT keep the big dogs in! We installed this around our acre property to keep the dogs in. It's one of those neighborhoods with utilities/drainage right of ways and indigineous growth between lots. (Areas at the front of the property that don't have hedges are lined with wood privacy fence.) Anyway, we didn't want to block wildlife so we installed it with the large openings at the bottom. We cut the back sides of a few existing hedge rows, installed the whole thing in a weekend and the hedges have grown in around it now. You don't even know it's there! ...except that the Retreivers (dogs) can't run rampant in the neighborhood. December 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great price I needed taller fence but for the price I just overlayed it to create the height I needed. .because height of fence I needed was 3 times more..saved money and had some left..it also reinforced fence to keep neighbors cows out of my yard December 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This really is great stuff Ive put up about 1400 feet of this and it has worked really well. Its much better quality then the stuff that comes in 100 foot sections. I'm only using it to fence in a golden retreiver and fence out a couple of the neighbor's goats and chickens but im sure its capable of a lot more. I will be buying more of this for sure December 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great product I am just an ordinary home owner with a couple of acres to take care of. I bought this fence to keep unwanted tumble weeds off my property. I also bought 20 t-stakes to hang this fence on. It has been a great investment so far. The heavy gauge wire is perfect for this type of barrier. I did this by myself (not recommended), it is a 330 ft. fence and therefor very heavy. I had some t-stakes on the property line so I played off of them and made my way from one to the next by unrolling the fence as I went, trying to keep no more than 15 feet between t-stakes and it worked out great. I was sore for three days following this job! December 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome product. Easy to deal with! Very easy product to roll out perfect for one edge of property for 2.5 acre lot. Easy to tie. Very durable and works perfect all types of different animals, including other dogs, rabbits, and even trash. June 19, 2015
