I have a Rigid 12V with interchangeable heads that are a handy feature; unfortunately the tool and/or battery STB and I'm too PO'd to Mickey Mouse around figuring it out. I'm in the middle of a project that requires the cutting head.

Actually answering this one myself. Actually answering this one myself. No there are no interchangeable 'heads' for the FEIN FMM-350 start Q which was available at my local Home Depot #they did not have the 250# for a very reasonable price considering what I had seen on the internet. I would assume the FMM-250 doesn't have them either; the 350 is a bit more heavy duty #3.6amps#. What I did find is that each model has four different levels depending on the variety of accessories that you want. The start Q is the basic level and comes with a metal/wood blade and a sanding pad with assorted grit papers. I used my 350 today with a used blade from my junk Rigid 12V to shave down some old sheetrock, and it worked pissah. Never paid this much for a power hand tool before, but it feels and sounds like superior quality. I'm not a trades person, but think this will give me many years of confident use. On a side note my HD does carry FEIN accessories and many of the competitors will also work; does anyone know if the FEIN accessories last longer? Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for hardwood floor install Really like this tool. I spent more than normal but you can't beat the quality of this tool. I originally bought it for installing hardwood floor. The cutting blade has made several cuts into oak without dulling. I installed flush mount hardwood vents and you need to create a fine straight lines when matching circular saw cuts. This tool helped create a tight fit. The sanding discs works equally as well. So far this tool gets a thumbs up. March 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Multi-Functional Tool I am using this amazing tool for over 7 years in my hardwood floor installation carrier. I use it everywhere: for undercutting door frames, for removing old glue. This tool is powerful in hardwood floor repairs and for much, much more projects. I highly recommend this tool to everybody who works with wood. July 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Specialized tool for special jobs This oscillating tool cuts hard materials with extreme precision. There are many different blades available for differing materials. The best thing about this tool is how little clearance it requires to do the job. Priceless for things like door jams when laying new flooring, or removing old grout. August 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great machine This is a great great machine. I like how it rolls on instead of instant on. The power cord is extra long and allows me to move around more easily. The slim (comparing) motor has impressive power. This thing is awesome. My best buy in a long time. August 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An outstanding tool for any serious woodworker The best thing about this tool is the quick change system. The other ones with allen wrenches are a real pain. The unit comes in this special promotional package with few blades. But they are available at several outlets and on line. The soft case is better than the hardshell case as it holds everything you need to carry to the job site. Fein gave me an additional warranty after I registered with them on line. I do not think the new battery system will work as well as the corded version. This has some real power. April 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptionally well made German tool. After seeing other trades use this type of tool for a few years now, I finally purchased one. After using a couple of different ones on job sites, I then got serious about it and checked out several brands and settled on the Fein Multimaster and as well bought an extra set of blades. I have used it a number of times in the past couple of weeks since I bought it and keep having the same thought: why the heck did I wait so long to get one! Also, I am so glad that I bought the Fein. It feels like a well built tool in your hand and I'm sure that I'm going to get years of use out of it. If you are considering getting one of these tools, I highly recommend the Fein. One of the cool features is that it has an extra long cord and plug. A couple of times I didn't have to get out an extension cord. July 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What's with the soft case? I'm extremely happy with the tool and have several of them at my company, all of which have a hard case. When one of the guys brought it back to the shop in the soft case we immediately sent him back to return it and to keep looking for the tool sold with a hard case. I was surprised to see this step down in quality from Fein who is respected as the best. February 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality tool at a good price. Bought this tool for my son to do some work at my house and it will also help him do his job at work. It is a little more expensive than similar brands but it is extremely high quality and should last for many years. He says it works great and enjoys working with it. It is definitely a tool that anyone in the trades would love to have. January 19, 2014
