I have a basement with just concrete walls and no studs, will this stay on the walls while it cures or does it need a surface applied to stick to the walls?
Asked by: Jon
If you make sure that the concrete is clean and dry before application and that the ratio of the A-side to B-side components is correct, you shouldn't have any issues with adhesion. You will additionally need to ensure that the product, substrate, and ambient temperatures are as directed in the instructions that come with the kit. The product cures in minutes, so it should be a fairly quick process. This product cannot be left exposed once cured. It must be covered with a 15-minute thermal barrier, such as drywall, so it may be beneficial to install wooden studs before applying the foam rather than afterward. This way the drywall can be applied uniformly.

I Have rental properties several have uninsulated metal duct work in crawl spaces. Would froth- pac work to insulate round and square Duct. would any prep be necessary.
Asked by: sdh
The FROTH-PAK™ 200 Foam Sealant Kit is actually considered an air sealant rather than insulation. If you are hoping to insulate your ducts, we would recommend using the FROTH-PAK™ 210 Foam Insulation Kit. As long as the surface(s) upon which you are spraying the foam is clean and dry and the product is warmed to the correct temperature, no further preparation work is needed. Instructions for correct usage can be found at the link below: http://msdssearch.dow.com/PublishedLiteratureDOWCOM/dh_0966/0901b80380966cf5.pdf?filepath=styrofoam/pdfs/noreg/179-00183.pdf&fromPage=GetDoc If the FROTH-PAK™ 210 Foam Insulation Kit does not appear to be in stock in your local store, visit the contractors/professionals desk to special order this product.

200 Foam Sealant Kit is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thought 1 pack was a stretch but bought 3 I thought I may be able to complete my job with 1 froth pak conservatively, ended up buying 3. Finished 3 rim joist spaces short. I have under 200' of 12" rim joist in a 2100 sq ft home. Very expensive and messy. Would never use this again and would hire a pro. I had no problems with the consistency of the product but still will not recommend to anyone. I think I could have had this job done by a pro for same or less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good enough to insulate my Sill Plate! I needed to insulate my sill plate. It was easy to install. Be sure to use a drop-cloth. You will drip, but this is not unexpected. Home is better sealed and warmer. Mission accomplished!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Froth pak 200 Used to seal up the rim joist in the basement. I have 1000 sq ft house with about 130ft of joist. I had plenty of product and actually went around a couple times. I plan on putting batts in over it so I only sprayed a couple inches on. If you follow the directions carefully and watch a YouTube video so you prepare your work area properly, I don't see how you will have any problems.
