Customer Questions & Answers

does the heater turn off completely?

The heater was installed in an independent building without heat. The heater turns on when outside temperature are low even though the dial is at the minimum possible. Is this behavior normal or the result of bad installation/defect?
Asked by: puzzled123
I've never had that happen when the dial is turned completely off. If you turn it on to its fullest capacity, it will keep running but if you turn the dial on partial way, it will shut off when the the room reaches that temperature and come back on when the temperature drops below. Maybe something is not right with the installation or like you said defective. I would not have kept this heater if I could not be cut it off completely when not in use.

Customer Reviews

10-1/2 in. x 12-1/2 in. 2,000-Watt Wall Heater is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Heater--still working great after 10 Plus years I don't understand the other review, my heater has held up for many years. I remodeled my bathroom which had baseboard type 240V heating. That baseboard was in the way of my remodel. I wanted to put in a nicer cabinet so I ripped it out and framed in the cabinet opening and left from to install this on the end, in a tiled wall opening. I was worried it might fail so I bought two of these and never used the second one. It blasts the heat in the bathroom, heating it up in five minutes or less. I typically turn it on in the morning, step out to check my email and the step back in a wonderfully warm bathroom. It pumps out plenty of heat in a short amount of time, and then can be shut right off again. Perhaps if you ran this thing on a high duty cycle you might have problems. I have forgotten to turn it off and left in on for lengthy periods on highest setting, 100% duty cycle and it held up fine. I strongly recommend it. Now if I can just find out if it can be down rated to 120V, I plan to put the spare in my camper for auxiliary heat. I am pretty sure it would work at half power on 120V.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from lasted 15 months Well, I guess they knew what they were selling. The warrantee is 12 months and at 15 months (less than 6 months of winter) it just died. I hope to find a different one which will fit the same hole. $135/yr is a little steep for bathroom heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little heater Bought this wall heater about 10 years or more ago when we remodeled our bathroom. It worked great until recently so am looking to replace it with another one. So glad to see Home Depot still has them. The price is good and if the next one will last another 10 years, that would be great. Very easy to install and operate.
