It's hard to to tell what to set the number setting to. How will I know what I'm setting the number to after turning the knob clockwise and how often should the heat come on after it shuts off?

Answer:
The knob in the upper left hand corner of the heater is an actual thermostat. It has a range of 45 - 85 degrees. The easiest way to set this heater is to turn the thermostat full clockwise and allow the heater to run until the room becomes comfortable. Once you feel comfortable turn the knob counterclockwise until you hear a click. The thermostat will now maintain that temperature by cycling on and off Read More

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent heater Heater works really good I like the numbers on the control knob so you know where your setting the heat, we rent cabins and this heater is just right for them I will buy more of this type heaters February 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Heater for reasonable Price! The heater was easy to install, and looks good, if somewhat dated. There's no fancy electronics to break - just a dial that controls the temp and how long the heater runs. I installed it in a bedroom that is quite large - 30 x 16 and it will keep the room comfy when set at 1.5. The only downside is the fan is pretty noisy. Not "Airplane in the room" noisy, but it definitely makes some noise, and will wake you at night when it kicks in. Until you get used to it... Overall a good product at a competitive price! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good heat/VERY expensive to run Placed the heater at one end of a large living room 24'x15'. The heater definitely has the power to heat the room; however, even with judicious use of the thermostat (less than a quarter turn of the knob) - we ended up paying almost $400 in one month of use over our previous electric bill. We will be looking for a less expensive unit in terms of operating costs. February 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Puts out great heat The old wall units I had in my house were the originals back when the house was built in the 60's. I matched the (new to the old) size, watts and btu's...but, ended up with much more heat/power than I needed in my tiny beach house. I'm guessing this happened because the old ones were wearing out and not as strong as they once were...and that is what I was "used to". The heat out-put, the look, and the ease of installation were great. There are two things I'm unhappy with this purchase; I felt they are very expensive and REALLY loud. I could have left the "very expensive" remark off if they were not so loud. I cannot leave the TV at normal sound level when the heaters come on...I have to turn it WAY up. I'm not sure what it will be like when I have visitors....hopefully I won't be embarrassed, but, reality tells me otherwise.. February 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfied I bought this wall heater to replace one in my bathroom. It works perfectly and was easy to install. May 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for basement I installed this heater in a large basement. I keep the setting on very low and it keeps my basement at a comfortable temperature. I initially was planning on installing two of these, but the one really throws enough to heat the whole basement very well. I keep the thermostat on 1.5 and it automatically keeps a constant temp down there. November 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wall moun heater I use these heaters in small apartments. They work great and are not pricey! January 18, 2011
