Tsat only activates my baseboard unit when turned to full HI position. At 1st it didn't turn the heater on at all. Is this normal for this Tsat.?

Full on or off will not work for my application. Have you had other returns for this model MD26R ?
Asked by: Displeased
This thermostat has a temperature range of 50-80 degrees F. Depending on the room temperature the thermostat may not energize the heater until it is turned up past the room ambient temperature.

How to install double pole

How to install double pole
Asked by: Fran
Hello Fran, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question. For 240 volt circuits, both line leads are hot and there is no neutral wire. So for double pole you would have 2 wires from the panel to the thermostat, each connected to its own line in terminal. On the load side you will connect each of the 2 wires to its load terminal going out to the heater. I hope this helps, Chris. .

Really, my only gripe is that it doesn't have the dial marked with degrees. I've used these on electric baseboard heat and they work as you would expect a thermostat to work. I've also used them to control a hanging hot water-fan coil heater commonly known as a Modine, and it works fine. It's inexpensive and does what it should. I'd have given it 5 stars if it had degree markings. In my most recent application I used a thermometer to get the room to the desired temperature, 70 degrees, and just put a dot where the pointer is so it's easy to set every time. It does what I need it to do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective Bi-metal calibration Installed the MD26R and my baseboard electric heater would not turn on. Checked power to thermostat-Good. Turned stat to high comfort range and tested load side - NO POWER. Worked dial and finally got the heater to heat ONLY WITH THERMOST PEGGED OUT ON THE HI SETTING. The temperature in the room was 58*F when testing. Bimetal must be off 12*F or the thermostat is only working all on or all off..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What junk! Bought four of these to replace 30yr old Thermostats. The first two would not sense a drop in temperature and turn on the heat automatically but they would work if you jiggled the knob a bit. Such junk that I had zero faith in them and returned all four. Bought another brand whose name sounds much like Bummysmells and installed those with zero problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Have used this thermostat for a year and a half to run two baseboard heaters. It does not have a temperature scale and that is fine as everyone simply adjusts it until the temperature is comfortable and then leaves it there. More useful than a thermostat that always tells the wrong temperature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent high voltage thermostat This was a replacement thermostat. The wiring was exactly the opposite of the old one. I like this unit better because it does not require batteries like the old one. Only have been using it for a month but so far so good. installation was easy. Glad I looked at the wiring diagram first. The only downside is there are no numbers/degree settings. I simply got a thermometer and calibrated the thermostat to that.
