need information on wall heater

Asked by: bill
Bill, this is a 2000 watt, 240 volt wall mounted fan forced unit that has a touch screen for controls and read out. It offers you 5/2 day programability with 4 settings each day. It is designed to operate with proportional heat output meaning it will only use the amount of heat needed to heat the room, reducingthe wattage from the maximum of 2000 watts down to 200 watts as needed.

Smart Series 12-1/2 in. x 17-3/4 in. 2,000-Watt Wall Heater is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly engineered Constantly cycles up and down with an annoying clicking sound, fan never shuts off, blows cold air when not calling for heat. Fan is very weak. Would not recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from CAN NOT EVALUATE THIS ONE AS IT IS OUT OF... CAN NOT EVALUATE THIS ONE AS IT IS OUT OF STOCK! THIS IS A REPLACEMENT FOR ONE I PURCHASED LESS THAN FIVE YEARS AGO. IT OVERHEATED AND QUIT.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Heater The heater keeps beeping and is driving me nuts. How do you fix this problem? Also doesn't provide enough heat for my bathroom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfect little heater this unit is used for my back bedroom for extra heat....i bought the 2000 watt model which provides more than enough heat. let me say this for other site reviewers..this is NOT ...a garage heater....2000 watts isn't enough, and you need to upgrade to a gas or propane VENTED unit like i have....mine is a 60,000 btu propane heater thermostatically controlled made for a garage/workshop situations...my garage heater covers my 1000 sq. ft. very nice...these units are NOT made for garage heat. this smart series 2000 does what it it was made for and does it very well.......you'd have to be a monkey if you can't follow set-up instructions i had an electrician wire mine if only for insurance purposes...if there was a problem the insurance co. would go after them not telling me i'm not covered because i did my own wiring.....peace of mind has a price nice unit ...buy it ...enjoy

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible control system I am very handi when it comes to home improvement products and I couldnt get into the set-up stage with three, yes 3 different units. Do not waste your time with this product. Doesnt explain simple things like fan speed, how to turn the heater on, what the mode settings mean, ect For instant to set up it says to hold the up and down arrows for 1.5 seconds. I tried several different times over the period of 1 month and had no luck even getting to set up stage. The manufacturer sent me a new display and still would not even go into basic set up. Dont waste your time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hard to program - and forgets it easily Installed two of these in a large basement office. Very difficult to program in terms of time it takes, due to bad user interface. But the bigger problem is that the unit appears to forget its programming very easily if it gets power fluctuations or even temporary outages, requiring that they be set up again - and again - and again... Have come down to office many times only to see the units on (when we didn't want heat) or off (when we did). These units look good and they do produce nice, reasonably quiet heat. But for the money spent they are far from worth it. Definitely not a great product compared to other options due to these programming issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I regret not reading the reviews as well for this product. We built an additional room and didn't... I regret not reading the reviews as well for this product. We built an additional room and didn't want to spend for connecting our existing ducting. I should have done more research. This unit is very loud, smells and is not user friendly what-so-ever. Any time the power goes out the unit beeps very loudly. I can't turn the sound off, as it mentions in the manual. On top of it I hate how once you turn the unit off it goes into cool down mode and takes forever to turn off! I'm planning to remove this unit and possibly replace with a ductless heat pump.
