Answer:
12-2 Romex is ok for this heater. This wire is rated for 20amps. 10-2 is rated for 30amps and more expensive and not necessarily needed. A two pole 20amp breaker is required.

The front grille does get warm. It is not so hot that you can not touch it but you do not want to keep yourself against it.

I would put nothing in front of the unit within 4 to 5 feet

The unit draws in cool air from the upper part of the grill and discharges heated air from the bottom part. Although that part of the grill gets moderately warm, it's probably not nearly hot enough to cause injury. Answer:
We use our heater in the lobby of our business. The overall area is about 24'x15' with 11' ceilings and raises the temperature about 8-10 degrees (from about 58 up to around 65-8) within about 1/2 hour or so. The lobby has 8' high retail aluminum and glass windows across the entire front, including glass/aluminum front door.

Answer:
This is a stand alone unit and pulls air in through the grille and heated air out the grille. You do not tie this in to duct work, very simple installation.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 12 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wall Heater The wall heater works very well. The 4 star rating was related to the installation instructions. A better identification of the holes to use for the top and bottom frames would have made the installation easier. Programming instructions were easy to follow. Nice heater April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heater Workes Great Instalation went Great Heater Works as expected I surfice mounted the unit and plugin the AC or the hearter to the 220AC circuit March 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Heater So far we really like this heater. We are using it to heat a 4 season room. Winters are cold in Iowa. So far it is doing a good job. December 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean appearence, great features, good performance I installed this heater in the lobby of our small business to supplement our aging and increasingly unreliable rooftop HVAC system. I selected this unit because of it's clean look with low profile installation and relatively high heat output. The big bonus feature turned out to be the programmable timer/thermostat that allows the heater to turn on early in the morning before we open to bring the lobby up to a habitable temperature. The included remote control allows for quick and easy control from several yards away. It's very quiet when operating and maintains a comfortable environment in all but the most extreme cold weather when people are coming and going thru the front door a few feet away. February 4, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Total Junk! What a waste of time and money! very loud & vibrates like crazey. You can hear it in the driveway! The cover only snaps on like cheep china junk.... I installed it in a 20x20 room and it never turns off, it runs and runs to only keep the room 68 degrees when set at 72... The old 1500 watt basebord I had heated better than this....Dont waste your time or money! I put a new 96 inch basebord in for less than $100 and its working great with no issues or sound January 25, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, but loud... True, this heater is relatively easy to install, programmable settings are great, and it can crank out some heat. But it's just a bit on the loud side. Fan only operates at one speed: fast. As the element cycles from hot to less hot you get bonus rattling noises as well. (A little creative maintenance can fix this bug...) The unit does what it says: only uses the maximum amount of juice necessary to get to your desired temp, then begins to draw less power...and it does stay right on the money with regard to temperature setting. The problem with that is the fan, for the most part, is blowing cold air once heater reduces its amperage. I would prefer it to crank on, max wattage up to your set temp,, go over and above that number by a degree or two, then just shut down and leave you alone so you can sleep for a while till it comes on again. Also - I had an issue with my unit right out of the box: Outer cover/grille was impeding the circulation of the fan so it could not spin. Again, creative repair... December 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product is perfect This product is perfect for heating additions to your home that are not part of the normal heating system. The programmable feature makes it possible to keep the rooms warm when needed and turns the unit off when not need. It runs pretty quiet, and the in wall mounted capability does not take up any space in the room and looks great on the wall. March 27, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by This product is ok. The heater looks good on the wall, its not hard to install, but the only down side of it is that is very loud. I wish it could've been less loud so doesn't sound like a 90's Air conditioner when it's on. Besides that, I think it works pretty well. December 31, 2013
