Can I nail this type of backsplash to the wall?

I'm currently renting an apartment with a decent albeit boring kitchen. To spice things up and protect the bare painted walls from my messy cooking and dish washing, I'd like to add a backsplash with PVC tiles. Given the renting aspect of my life, the suggested adhesive is a big "no-no." I can, however, use nails to hang artwork, etc.

So could I nail the paintable white PVC tile to the wall and just paint over the nails? That would be much easier and safer to remove when I need to leave - if it stays up just fine in the interim that is. :-)

Answer:
Great question! The recommended adhesive is Loctite® PL Premium for a permanent application. If you would like a temporary installation and plan to remove the panels at some point, decorative tacks or nails can be used that will provide less patch work later on.

Hello ShinySpork and thank you for your question.
You can use small finishing nails to attach the Fasade 18 in. x 24 in. Decorative Wall Tiles for your backsplash. Complete the project with a matching finish outlet cover – a peel-and-stick laminate sheet that easily applies to light switches and outlet plate covers.
Remember to never expose the panels to heat over 140°F. Keep toaster ovens and cooking ranges a minimum of 2-3 inches away from the backsplash panel’s surface.
Clean only with warm, soapy water. Using a high-quality auto polish can help protect the finish. NEVER use abrasive cleaners since they may harm the finish on the panels.
Best wishes on your project. Read Less

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Returned: heat safe only to 140 degrees I intended to use these plastic panels as a backsplash behind my rangetop. Found out they are only heat rated to 140 degrees. Tested my range top with cookware and found the area to reach 160 degrees. Didn't want to risk installing the panels and have them melt. Bought aluminum panels from another vender instead.
