Customer Questions & Answers

Cleanup ease

I am planning on using this material as a back splash around a stove in a vintage RV. Does this material wipe clean easily from cooking splatter or grease? Being PVC I would think it would be perfect! Please advise. Thanks...
Asked by: Coolparrot
Hello! Thank you for your question! We recommend that the panels be cleaned with soap and water only. Any harsh abrasives or chemical cleaners will damage the finish on the tiles. Please feel free to contact our customer care department for any additional questions at 800.434.3750. We would be happy to assist you!

Can this material be shaped to use on the inside of a cylinder? Specifically a drum. How heavy is one sheet?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Paso! Thank you for your question! The Fasade decorative backsplash panels are not meant to be bent or shaped into a cylinder due to their rigid PVC material. Each panel weighs approximately 1 lb. Please feel free to contact customer care for installation tips and troubleshooting (800.434.3750).

Is this product safe to use behind stove?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello! Thank you for your question! Even though the backsplash panels are fire-retardant, they can be deformed by excessive heat (over 140 degrees Fahrenheit). The panels can be installed above or behind most stoves. Be sure to keep direct heat sources – toaster ovens, cooking burners, etc., a minimum of 3 inches away from the backsplash panel’s surface.

Can this be installed over textured walls?

Asked by: sophie
Hello sophie, The following is part of the installation instructions: Before starting, make sure all surfaces are clean, dry, flat, smooth and free from dust, grease, etc. Lightly sand any glossy surfaces to remove sheen. Clean the back surface of the panels by wiping with a clean cloth and rubbing alcohol. Refer to adhesive manufacturer's directions. So they indicate it must be a smooth surface for proper adhesion, Left click on the photo of the product you are interested in at Home Then detailed installation instructions and product specifications can be found by clicking on the orange arrow beside the word “specification” which is below the photo of this product on Home You will find an installation and user guide in a box to the right. Is this product paintable? If yes, is there prep. I should do first?

No, I would not recommend painting this product. The texture and material would not work well painted.

Can these be placed over wall tile already

Asked by: shaune
Hello and thank you for your interest in our product. The wall to which you plan to install backsplash panels to needs to be freshly cleaned, free from dust, grease, wax, etc. After you’ve cleaned the wall, be sure that it is dried thoroughly. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and primed. Fill cracks and irregularities with wallboard compound or spackling, then sand smooth with fine-grade sandpaper. Any porous material like highly textured drywall, plywood (or any raw wood without primer), and wallpaper unless removed, sanded and primed, will result in adhesive failure. Please feel free to contact our customer care team at 800.434.3750 for any further questions. Thank you!

24 in. x 18 in. Ripple PVC Decorative Backsplash Panel in Brushed Aluminum is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from High end look, fraction of the price! Placement planning is a must but so worth it! After proper planning, installing the tile was a breeze! The only thing I am not crazy about is the trim and corner piece. The trim didn't close tightly enough on the tile and leaves a gap, not hugely visible but it still annoys me a bit. I also am not a fan of how the trim looks with this particular design, I choose not to use it and made sure my cut lines were extremely straight. It's very difficult to get a straight edge but with a sharp enough box cutter and a metal straight edge ruler it can be achieved.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings I first saw the product at Home Depot and brought the sample book home to choose the style and color. I decided on Ripple and went back to the store to look at the product first hand. They were out. I found the same product at Lowes and put two panels side by side to see what the seam looked like. The seam was acceptable. I ordered the product online from Home Depot and had it installed by a reputable contractor. When I got home the seams were remarkably noticeable. I found that the panels at the left edge that did not have the overlap edge actually had about a 1/4" of a flat edge past the ripple design which makes the seam much more noticeable than if the edge ends at the ripple like it did with the product I found in the store. I am sure about this because I brought one sample piece home from the store to match it to my countertops. Unfortunately it was completely installed before I realized the edge was finished in this way. If I had known this I would have chosen a product that had a square pattern so the seam was less noticeable. I would recommend the product if it was like the piece I bought in the store. I would not recommend that it be purchased on line. Other than that it was installed with double sided tape, easy to install, easy to cut. My installer installed it in less than a day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy DIY project Love, Love, Love. Highly recommended for ALL. Easy to install, modernizes my kitchen. I used as a backsplash. I am a renter, so I used double stick tape and it works like a dream.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Takes some patience The edges on the panels were not cut correctly/with equal sized seams so it does take more time and patience to install. After taking a lot of time cutting and resizing the panels to fit correctly, the end result is fantastic. The price should be lower since the product does not work as it should, but the durability and look of the product is far more superior than similar wall tile treatments.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tacky, Cheap Plastic, Not durable When we first picked this up I had my doubts but it looked so nice in the video I wanted to give it a try. As we measured and cut the pieces we realized how cheap and tacky the material really was. You dont really save much money on these either. They scratch super easy chip and there is a plastic coating on then that will peel away if your not super careful when cutting. we stopped half way through to return the uncut sheets and went with tile instead. Wish I didnt waste the money on these but we found tile that matches great for only a few dollars more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to add style and dimension to the kitchen We are very pleased with our choice of the Ripples decorative backsplash. The panels are of good quality and they were easy to cut and install. In just a few hours the look of the room was transformed to a sleek and stylish kitchen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Backsplash! Once we got going, it was easy to install. We love the finished product. Cut with a utility knife and a T-square. Outlet covers were also easy to do. Don't mind the seams at all. Really LOVE this product!
