How is the cleaning of this item,if used as a backsplash behind the stove?

I love this design, but am curious about the cleaning of grease off this particular design..
Asked by: MsOoowee
Hello! Thank you for your question! Once you have your backsplash installed, the panels can be cleaned with soap and water only. Any harsh abrasives will damage the finish on the tiles. If you need a degreaser we recommend using dawn dish soap. Please feel free to contact our customer care department at 800.434.3750. We would be happy to assist you!

can fasade be used in a shower recess

Asked by: frenchie
Hello Frenchie! Thank you for your question! Yes, the Waves panels can be used in and around a shower stall. Once you have your backsplash installed, the panels can be cleaned with soap and water only. Any harsh abrasives will damage the finish on the tiles. As long as our panels are not exposed to certain shower and bathtub cleaners, they are able to be used around the outside or above a shower. For additional protection in high traffic areas (outside of tub or above shower) we recommend applying a silicone sealant for moisture resistance. This will ensure quality protection for years to come. Thank you! Please feel free to contact customer care for any additional questions at 800.434.3750

Are they good for rentals?

Can they be easily removed and will they damage the walls?
Asked by: JLM
Thank you for your interest in our product. The Fasade Decorative Backsplash panels are considered a permanent application and possible damage to the substrate is possible when removing the panels due to the aggressive adhesive we recommend. You can install the panels with small nails to decrease the amount of damage being done to the substrate. Please feel free to contact our customer care team at 800.434.3750 for any further questions or needed assistance. Thank you!

how do you install this product? One place I read "no adhesive backing" and another it says "adhesive backing" not sure which to believe
Asked by: Anonymous
That is a great question. Thank you for asking. The Fasade backsplash do not have an adhesive backing so they do require using the manufacturer suggested adhesives when installing. If you have any questions please contact Customer Service at 800-434-3750. Thank you!

How many boxes do I needs for 44 sf

Asked by: Anonymous
You have to calculate it. I bought the 18 inch x 24 inch panels. I need 4 of them for a small area. 1 panel on the left of my stove, 1 panel to the right of my stove, and 2 panels each cut in half for behind my 30 inch stove. I messed up 1 panel, so have to buy 1 more panel. Cost about $120 so far.

Customer Reviews

24 in. x 18 in. Waves PVC Decorative Tile Backsplash in Moonstone Copper is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely worth the high-end look it gives Product is great except for one thing. When measuring your wall area, full sheets look better over appliances like the stove or the sink rather than having a seam off center. You'll have to buy more panels but the end result is worth it. You also need corner moldings for neater appearance. If you can get samples before purchasing, do it. They look very different in pictures. Easy enough to work with with sharp scissors and double face tape. Lastly, some panels can be used in either direction, some not. So check before you start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple fast and Easy. Despite the cost of this product, it equals the looks and elegance of glass tile when creating backsplashes. Because of the wavy feature, cutting with a sharp utility knife was not an option. I chose a large pair of snips used in installing vinyl siding to simply cut to size. When it came to making the holes for outlets, I used a Multi Tool reciprocating saw with a fine-tooth blade. I also chose to use clear silicone to affix the panels because I have used the adhesive suggested and found silicone allows more forgiveness when moving the panels in position with a cleaner clean-up residue within the seams. Starting in larger, common spaces over stoves and sinks are a plus, but can pose a challenge because these panels need to overlap. By using silicone, this too allows more freedom and slower drying time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great! Plan your installation thoroughly I used multiple pieces of this to face my home bar. Product looks great when properly installed. Planning your seam locations and orientation are key. I found that the only way I could cut this due to the "wavy" shape was with a saw & finished the exges with a piece of sandpaper and a block to produce a quality edge finish. Tried to use the specified tape for installation and it all fell off a couple days later despite proper surface preparation. Reapplied with the adhesive caulking and it works perfect. Happy with the finished results. A bit costly but I factored that into the build up front so I was aware what I was going to spend ... less the tape failure. The tape DID stick VERY WELL to the plastic but not to other surfaces other than plastic. Would have preferred H.D. stock larger pieces to avoid seams.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pay Attention! This product is absolutely beautiful... I was very close to being fooled into thinking this was cheap plastic, and nearly chose not to purchase it, until I discovered that there is a clear plastic sheet over the product... even one of the employees didn't know it was there. It appears to scratch easily and be a cheap flimsy plastic product until that clear plastic is peeled back. No more scratches, and the actual metal showed through! Don't be fooled! It is actually a great product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the look I purchased the "tiles" at my local HD store. Instead of using them as a backsplash, I am installing them in my stairway landing wall as an accent wall. Due to the cost and the size of the wall I am buying a few at a time and installing as I go. Can't wait to see the full wall finished. Easy to cut and install. The adhesive tape sticks for a few days but will start to lift. I am using loctite all purpose adhesive to install and no problems with the tiles lifting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest backsplash ever The material was easy to cut for a close fit in the corners. The overlap area created an almost invisible seam. The border pieces that covered the edges were also very easy to cut and arrange to created perfect corners. I would definitely use this product in future finishing work that I may have an opportunity to do in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks Great Once it is all up! Where do I begin? Let me start by saying that the product is great, the quality seems very good and the transformation it gave our kitchen is amazing. The panels look beautiful. They gave our kitchen a more modern look. It helped to that we changed our sink, faucet, and counter tops as well. What I did not enjoy so much was the installation. This is to no fault of the panels themselves, it is just that I had my work cut out for me with trying to cut around the panels to fit as precisely as I could around my kitchens window sill trim. At $20 each panel, I did not want to make any mistakes. I totally just winged it cutting the panel little by little until it fit as good as it could around the window sill trim. It was a painstaking process as the panels are not all that easy to cut. There were some small quarter inch to half inch gaps between the panel and the trim but it is not all that noticeable due to the fact that I bought a paint sample that closely matched the color of my panels to paint around the window trim, power outlets, wall corners, and base of the cabinets so try to hide any possibly gaps. And believe me, there will be some gaps once you are done cutting. I highly recommend you use sheers instead of regular scissors to cut the panels. When using your utility knife to cut the power outlet openings, pull the panel up and towards to a bit when cutting as it seems to help cut through the panel a little easier. I got better at cutting the panels as I went along. Also recommend using the corner trims for the corners of your kitchen walls and make sure to use plenty of adhesive.
