If I use the facade double sided tape for vinyl tiles in my rental, does it remove easily with no residue, as stated in a YouTube video?

Asked by: Anonymous
It does not remove easily. It is quite "tacky". It came loose from my varnished wood surface (when I wanted it to stick) but it was VERY "tacky" to the back of the 'plastic' facade I was sticking to the wall. I guess it depends partly on the material/surface.

Can I put the adhesive on shiney tile or will it not stick properly?

Asked by: 42dallas
Hello! Thank you for your question! Yes, you can install your decorative Fasade panels over existing ceramic tile. The wall to which you plan to install backsplash panels to needs to be freshly cleaned, free from dust, grease, wax, etc. After you’ve cleaned the wall, be sure that it is dried thoroughly. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). Feel free to contact customer care at 800-434-3750 for any additional installation trouble shooting advice.

How much weight can the tape hold? I am looking to adhere thin stainlees steel panels with this tape, will this hold?

Asked by: mg86
This tape is pretty strong and I believe it will hold your thin tiles. Put the tape on all 4 sides and some in the middle to even out the weight and press hard to the wall.

Thank you for your question! Yes, you can install these decorative panels behind your stove. Even though the backsplash panels are fire-retardant, they can be deformed by excessive heat (over 140 degrees Fahrenheit). The panels can be installed above or behind most stoves. Be sure to keep direct heat sources – toaster ovens, cooking burners, etc., a minimum of 3 inches away from the backsplash panel’s surface. Feel free to contact customer care for a sample or to discuss additional installation techniques (800.434.3750).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing We purchased this tape because it was recommended for installing Fasade PVC backsplash. We scrupulously followed instructions (cleaning the kitchen wall and backsplash) and used the recommended amount (more in some places.) Within a few days the tape had released from the painted wall, although it was quite firmly affixed to the backsplash. The backsplash was supported on the bottom, so there was very little weight pressure on the tape; still, it would not stick to the painted wall. We resorted to construction adhesive and it worked fine. So, I do not recommend this tape for this purpose, although it may work very well for other projects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy Product We used the double sided tile decorative wall tile adhesive tape to install backsplash in our kitchen. The double sided tape is nice in that you don't have to mess with liquid adhesive and risk getting it on your cabinets or counter tops. I found the biggest problem working with the two sided tape is getting the backing off when starting a run. Once started the backing removes easily and holds very firmly. Between using the decorative wall tile which is easily cut to size and the two sided tape I was able to complete the backsplash in my kitchen in a Sunday afternoon

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sufficient It's good to get it on the wall. Use in conjunction with glue so that it holds in place until glue sets up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sticks to plastic but not much else... Bought this tape to install several pieces of backsplash on a home bar facade. The tape sticks to the plastic backsplash with nearly no chance of removing it once you stick it BUT it fell off the properly prepared wood face that I was sticking the backsplash to. It stuck for a couple days but once the indoor temperature reached mid 80's the tape fell loose. It didn;t hold the seams as tight as I liked eather. I pulled all the backsplash off and worked for 2+ hours to remove the tape from the plastic. Re-applied with the adhesive and wish I had done that from the start!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't use it I found the backsplash adhesive much easier to use than the tape. The seams weren't near as smooth with tape. I wouldn't recommend using the tape for the plastic backsplash. I hung 2 pieces with the tape and was very disappointed. I returned the second roll I had purchased. I used the adhesive on the rest of the project with much better results.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good at all. Did not work for me .I used it in my kitchen on a plastic tile on wall, one day day later it was coming off. First I thought it was from the heat of the oven. Then I checked the other tiles all were pulling away. Used another kind of tape that is made for outdoors super sticky did get it from the HD.
