The screw is engineered to offer the Ultimate Finished Look by virtually eliminating splitting, splintering and cam-out during installation. TRIO has a proprietary multi-layer coating that offers corrosion resistance that is unmatched by other coated steel screws and fully warranted. Fasten Master TRIO has a patented drive system called TTAP. This is a Torx drive with an extended “button” at the base of the drive. TTAP offers the end user a stick fit and extremely easy drivability.

Well worth spending the extra $$$ on; the screws performed exactly as specified for my attic ladder install with a very clean / unobtrusive finish (no splitting) and could be backed out / re-tightened several times without any noticeable loss of performance or damage to the 2" x 6" support joists I put in place to secure the attic ladder to the existing roof structure. I will certainly be buying these again for my deck restoration project; currently I have annoying nail pops all over the place from original (cheap) construction - I am certain these fasteners will not let me down and provide a much more aesthetically pleasing, 'finished' / hidden look once the new boards are added!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Far superior to DeckMate I have used DeckMate screws for quite a while; but never again. These TRIO screws cost about 25% more, but it's worth it. They don't make TRIO in 3.5" lengths and I was hesitant to try them because I've experienced other 3" screws that strip out the wood even before the screw head was all the way flush into the material; needless to say this is frustrating to deal with. The TRIO screws have threads that go up the shank much higher than other screws which I believe is why they perform so well, even close to knots the screw always pulled the head into the material with ease. The TRIO screws also do not split the wood so easily like other screws do. Even driving the screws 1" from the cut edge of the board I experienced no splitting (save one occasion when there was a knot, and the wood was partly split already near to where I needed to position the screw.) I'm not quite sure how it works, but the special shape of the head produces a clean finish around the head of the screw. The wood fibers do not flare out like other screws do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This is a great product. The bits provided in the box are high quality and didn't spit the wood when I installed unlike most deck screws. The bits provided are high-quality and the drive system doesn't cam-out. Installation guide was helpful. Will buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, durable screw I went through an box of 75 screws in dense pressure treated lumber without any stripped out heads or broken shafts. Screws drove in clean and countersunk nearly flush. These are the best screws I've found for decking and other pressure treated usage.
