Product Overview

Save time, money and labor costs! TimberLoks sharp point and aggressive threads penetrate the densest woods without pre-drilling and provide stronger shear values than 3/8 in. galvanized lag screws. TimberLoks unique countersinking head design is perfect for your next wood-to-wood project whether it be deck framing, fencing, or any post to beam connections. It's also perfect for replacing galvanized spikes in raised flower beds, landscaping, or retaining walls. No need to predrill and sledge a spike. TimberLok just zips right in! 6 in. TimberLoks can also be used as a code compliant replacement for hurricane ties in rafter to top place and truss to top plate applications. Simply drive the 6 in. TimberLok at a 22-1/2 degree angle below the double top plate up into the center of the rafter. This can be done when over or between wall studs. The fastener head will countersink to secure the rafter to the double top plate. Please refer to FastenMasters website for application specific information regarding this connection.

Answer:
I think the shank diameter is #10 = 3/16 in = 0.19 in. I do not have one in hand yet but I clicked on specifications and searched the PDF document link.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stuff! Fast & Easy Timesaver! I bought a box of 6-inch and a box of 8-inch screws to build some heavy-duty benches for the fire pit area I'm constructing--using 6" x 6" and 4" x 6" pressure-treated lumber. Using the Timberlok screws saved me A LOT of time and energy over my initial plan to use lag screws to attach the pieces together. Using lag screws, I'd have to pre-drill all the holes to depth and then ratchet them in. With the Timberlok screws, I just had to use the bit included with each box to screw them in (after countersinking for the screw heads). Despite the thickness and density of the pressure-treated wood, the Timberlok screws went in pretty easily. I used the 8-inch screws to attach the 4" x 6"s to the 6" x 6"s (a triangle of three at each end) and the 6-inch screws to attach the 4" x 6"s to each other (two at each end and two in the middle). Then I capped the tops of the benches with deck boards. I attached each of the 6" x 6" bases together with Heavy Duty Liquid Nail and two 10" galvanized spikes--although I could've easily used 8-inch Timberlok screws to make the connections. (I didn't happen on the Timberlok screws until the bases were already done.) I was able to assemble all four benches on a Sunday afternoon--and they are very solid and sturdy--and seriously heavy. Bench is four-feet wide; seat is one-foot deep and 20-inches high; base is two-feet deep. March 24, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great! these did the job and we had excellent customer service as well! October 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent for building with pressure treated posts and heavy lumber I used these to build a bench that needed to hold 300+ pounds. Using 4 x 4 pressure treated posts and 2 x 12 pressure treated lumber, I had the bench complete in less than 30 minutes. I was impressed with the ease at which I was able to install a 6 inch screw with no wood splitting whatsoever. The last time I built something out of pressure treated posts, I assembled a rack to hold a half cord of firewood. I assembled it with 3/8" lag bolts and had to drill a tone of holes. It took me all day to build the thing. If I had these Timberlok screws at the time, I could have done the job in an hour. These are a real time saver, and they make it really easy to get excellent results. I don't think these are pricey at all. Considering the alternative is using a lag bolt with nut and washers, and drilling holes, these are a bargain. June 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well worth the money I used these fasteners on a header project. They worked better than I expected and I do expect a lot. I have and will recommend these to anyone. I will be buying them again. They are a bit pricey but the ease at which they install is well worth it in time saved. They self start and go in with out cracking boards. September 15, 2013
