Answer:
It would depend on the model that you have. If your unit has the "RED" set button, it can be muted.
If it has the black set button, it cannot be muted.

My toddler can hear the beep on unlock for entry/exit. He wakes up from a dead sleep sometimes to see who's at the door. I've looked through the product manual and saw nothing's in regards to silent operation.

Answer:
It depends on what model series you own. If your 'set-button' in the rear of your unit is "Black" then your unit is a series 1 which did not offer a "Mute" feature at the time of purchase. If your set button is "Red" then follow these steps to enable 'Mute-mode'. 1-Press the red "Set-button" until the unit double beeps and red light illuminates the "Lock" button, signifying unit is in 'programming mode'. If 3 beeps are heard, you have not entered the correct code and cannot proceed)). 3- Enter "60" & press "Lock". 4- Enter "0" & press "Lock" to turn off your sound (entering "1" & "Lock" turns feature back on). Unit should flash a green and red light go out. Your unit is now in "Mute-mode". If we can be of further assistance, please call us @ 1-877-663-5625 Read Less

Answer:
The original key is required to get into the cylinder to be able to rekey. So, without the original key, it can't be rekeyed unless you take it to a locksmith.

Rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible. Had to pay $100 for a locksmith! Have had this lock for 3 months. About two months of using only the keypad, I noticed that there seemed to be something jammed in the key hole. Like some of the cylinders had fallen inside. I couldn't get my key in the hole so I was limited to using the keypad to lock and unlock. I called Home Depot customer support and after talking to someone who was very rude, she said they'd send me a new assembly to replace the jammed one. It hasn't arrived yet. Tonight when I tried to use the keypad to enter it was impossible. I heard the electronics grinding but nothing was unlocking. 100 bucks for a locksmith and a whole lot of stress later I am not impressed. Will never buy this brand again. January 21, 2015
