Have had this lock for 3 months. About two months of using only the keypad, I noticed that there seemed to be something jammed in the key hole. Like some of the cylinders had fallen inside. I couldn't get my key in the hole so I was limited to using the keypad to lock and unlock. I called Home Depot customer support and after talking to someone who was very rude, she said they'd send me a new assembly to replace the jammed one. It hasn't arrived yet. Tonight when I tried to use the keypad to enter it was impossible. I heard the electronics grinding but nothing was unlocking. 100 bucks for a locksmith and a whole lot of stress later I am not impressed. Will never buy this brand again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BeastieGirl Just the right size and color for my needs
I ordered the Faultless electronic keypad deadbolt in aged bronze because I wanted an electronic keypad deadbolt for a black security door we were installing. I thought the aged bronze would match well with the black door and the size according to the specs would be just right to cover both pre-drilled holes in the security door. I wish I could have seen the lock before I ordered it, but the item is only available online. I took a chance since shipping was free and I could return it to the store if it did not meet my needs.
HD comminicated well via email regarding the order, the item came quickly, and it was very easy to install. I'm a female in my forties with some very basic tool skills and previous experience changing locks on a door. I insisted that I install the lock because my boyfriend tends to not read directions carefully. The instructions were simple and straight forward to follow for installation and programming codes.
I was afraid that the electronic component would be too bulky to fit properly between the security door and the main door, but it fit without a problem. There is about a 1/8th inch gap between the lock and either side of the door because the pre-drilled holes have about a 1/8th inch raised border around each hole. I wish it were flush, but at least the holes are covered. (This is of course due to the door design and not the fault of the Faultless.)
Since we covered both holes with this lock, I attached cabinet handles to the door itself. It's a bit unorthodox, but it works for us.
I like the 12 key button keypad (as opposed to the 6 button keypads of some other electronic dealbolts). The construction feels solid and the lock mechanism is smooth. I was disappointed that we can't use the auto-lock feature because our door requires the user to pull the door in strongly to engage the lock. The lock won't engage right if the lock and groove are not aligned properly. Also, when opening the lock, we need to press the door in to relieve tension on the deadbolt so it can retract. Again, this is not exactly the Faultless's fault, but a consequence of how we were able to hang the door.
You can enter multiple entry codes and each code is limited to 6 digits. I would have preferred the option to enter an 8 digit code to match our main lock. When locking or unlocking with the keypad, the unit beeps loudly. Being able to go in and out without a key is awesome. The area near the keyhole is a bit scuffed up with key marks within about a month of use. The back cover seems to be plastic, but it seems fairly solid.
