Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Door Purchased this product in Feb. and decided to finally install it this past weekend, with the help from a 5 and 6 year old. An ease to install, and this door look beyond beautiful, and the kids love it. I would recommend this door to anyone. I dont have to deal with the sun hitting the door so I don't have to deal with the noise the other review stated. My house faces the North and has an over hang over the door. April 11, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Door not designed for long door handle I purchased this October 2014. Now July 2015, about 8 months old. I notice the lower end nut (that hold the lower end of long door handle from the outside, developed some indent. Closely inspect, I saw the fiberglass from the interior dented in and crack. Brought the issue to Home Depot, they talk to manufacturer, then gave me a claim number and asked me to send them picture. The next day, warranty people from manufacturer called me back and said the 1/8 in thick fiberglass do not designed to hold long door handle. I used my knuckle and knock around that felt like nothing was behind that thin fiberglass, very hollow sound. Manufacturer told me that is not under warranty (25 years warranty on their paper). IMHO, if I pulled close the door to close a bit stronger, my door handle would come off, since there is not much more than a front and back two sheet of 1/8 in thick to hold it. Now the issue is back to Home Depot and I am waiting from them. Will update soon. July 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This door is absolutely beautiful. The picture does not do it justice. It was easy to install and only took a few hours. The door has a tight seal and closes quietly. It brings in light to my dark hallway, but I have not noticed any heat from the door. It was easy to install and only took a few hours. The door arrived well packaged and in very good condition. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Five years later!! Home Depot sold us this door, the installation, and a storm door "to protect your new door". Nobody mentioned that the manufacturer does NOT RECOMMEND a storm door be installed, nor did they mention that THE DOOR SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED WITH A SOUTH OR WEST EXPOSURE! After two years of making certain that the storm door glass was lowered during the day, the window failed. It is held in with ADHESIVE, not any mechanical support system! The door gets hot from the sun, the adhesive softens, the glass slides downward until it actually breaks the plastic trim ring. It was replaced under warranty, but we were told it would not be replaced again. It broke again a few days ago. As an added disappointment, five years of exposure has rendered the finish to a very cheap-looking plastic sheen. DO NOT BUY THIS DOOR if it will face south or west and do not install a storm door over it. Summary: it was not cheap to buy, but it certainly IS cheaply made. Find something else. November 5, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Energystar rated, but Well finished and lockset holes lined up with frame. I live in a hot climate zone so my reasons for buying this door was addressing heat. My door faces west and gets full afternoon sun. Direct sunlight heats up interior glass of triple pane feature quite high. I expected better temperature control. Triple pane or double pane glass works best when not exposed to direct sunlight for resisting heat transfer. When sunlight first hits glass the door/glass the door makes popping sound as it expands, when sunlight moves off door/glass more popping sounds occur as it cools and sound continues into evening. Sounds like a small pebble hitting the glass. Pretty annoying. I have owned this door 13 months. It is a pretty door both from the outside and inside, but noisy when it expands and contracts. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Prefinished fiberglass doors--excellent choice! I read previous review about door in direct sunlight. All doors with glass will have this issue. Florida sun is so intense it will also burn off the clear coat on the surface of these doors. Reccomendation-clear polyurethane the door finish every year and add titanium film to outside of glass to elimnate the glass popping issue. This should only be installed under a 6 ft overhang without direct sunlight December 2, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value I bought an Impact Rated door like this one, however it was white with silver trim from the same manufacturer. The packaging was impressive and allowed a one-man install. Once unpacked, I was disappointed with the finish around the glass. There was excess caulk that I had to clean afterwards. The associate told me that this was normal and that this insured that there was a tight seal. However on closer inspection after purchase, there was excess caulk everywhere. Overall the wife loves the light and rainbow effects in the afternoon and we now have a great door which looks great and seals tight. March 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highly Recommended Door We purchased this door after shopping at several wood supplies, building supply shops and custom fabricators. This door was extremely inexpensive in comparison, but even better - it is beautiful! It came prehung, with a the knobs predrilled and the threshold. The only thing we needed to buy was shims. It was very easy to install and looks stunning. I can't say enough positive things. July 16, 2013
