Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lightbulb45 Great Bulb For The Money
It does its job for sure and is not too large as some cfl's are these days. The ONLY fault ive found in it which pretty much all have is once its below 30 degrees outside, it doesnt aways go to full brightness. I would suspect that depends on what fixture you install it in, where, and if its windy outside. It would be nice to have it available in bright white or soft white.... but light is light when you need it any works !

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by CBXinMA Arrived Broken
I have order this bulb 3 times and TWICE they arrived broken because they were poorly packaged! The first time I opened the box I found shards of broken glass and all the CFL poisons where once there had been a light bulb. The second broken shipment gave me a bulb with a broken base, again caused be poor packaging. Aside from those hassles, the bulbs when intact work as advertised and I love the 6500K light. I do hope they improve their method of packaging these fragile light bulbs because I would like to order more of them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by danle This is what you need to give your home enough light
This is what you need because with the new technology and the new law about old bulbs going away, none of the newer ones with weaker wattage can give me enough light for my home.
The 75 watts and even 100 watts bulbs in this class are not that bright.
This one is very bright, 200 watts, but consumes much less than that in electricity.
It is much more expensive, compared to the older bulbs, but it lasts much longer.
So in the end, with the savings realized from lower power consumption, and longevity, it is right about the cost of the older bulb, or even cheaper.
So I recommend it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sled work great for indoor gardening
I ordered 4 of these to start my tomatoes and peppers for the outdoor garden. These are very bright white with a touch of blue which is what young seedlings like. You could probably grow some plants to harvest with these if you added a few 2700k bulbs to the mix. I made a light fixture for them out of an old plastic garbage can lid and some lamp parts from the hardware store. the bulbs stay cool enough that I don't have to worry about melting. Plus, you can get the lights very close to the plants without burning them. This makes the plants short and strong instead of tall and spindly I read somewhere that these 42w bulbs give the best lumens per watt. I am very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bionicsquid Great source of light for indoor plants
This bulb puts out a lot of light. I use them for indoor seedlings and over wintering plants. They don't use a lot of energy as well. Don't look at the price and compare them to regular light bulbs. They are not regular light bulbs. You won't find them in the stores. But Home Depot has them on their online store. There are larger ones as well. Great product. Thanks Home Depot. I have a total of 4 now. They still work and I use them daily. When they wear out, I will by them again. Thumbs Up!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mikej1592 website does not include size, but it should it is huge!
We wanted more light, this would have been the trick but our fixture would not allow this behemoth inside it. The package is 7.5X3inches that the bulb comes in so that should give you an idea how big the bulb is. I wish they had mentioned that in the homedepot product details but hopefully my review will shed some light on this detail for some people considering this bulb. We are using it in a standing lamp, yes it sticks up out the top, but it is in our dogs room so they don't mind. Great bulb, very bright, my phone app ranks it over 12,000 lux at a few feet from it in direct view and the room about 300 lux ambient. Not a professional light gauge just my smartphone app so take that for what it's worth; but it has measured the "happy lamps" at bed bath beyond equal to what they claim their lux rating is.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vron Super Bright!
Wow, this bulb is extremely bright. I bought it to use with seedlings I am growing. The only negative for my use is that the light doesn't broadcast that super brightness to a wide enough area. So for my seedlings in trays I am using 4 ft fluorescent tubes. I will use this super bright bulb for individual plants once some of my seedlings grow up. I'm sure if you were using this bulb to light a room instead of for intense light on seedlings it would be fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by IamVaChemist This bulb with a simple reflective socket did what I bought it for.
I use it as a grow light for starting patio and garden seedlings. Full spectrum and low infrared gives the plants exactly what they need without the heat or stem elongating effects of incandescent lighting. Good on energy and reasonably priced, a must for every serious gardener. This bulb and reflector well light about 6 sq. feet.
