Perfect replacement. I suggest using rubber glove when installing to keep from touching bulb (said to shorten bulb life)

Love this light, put it in remodeled guest bathroom which makes the room extra special. I would love to put one in my entryway but no outlet there. Am thinking of putting one in the hallway just because it is so pretty when on. I am no electrician but have installed lights and ceiling fans so was able to install with no trouble. The directions are terrible, but read a review that told me it was a snap. There are two black wires sticking out of the lamp, one is hooked up to white and one to black. Just match the white to white and black to black and ground to ground in ceiling wiring and vioala! The halogen lights are expensive but again from reviews learned not to touch them with bare hands because oil from hands make them burn out quickly, just put on some latex gloves. I ordered the bulbs when I ordered the light and had no problems. These two issues are why I didn't give it a 5 rating but for style and beauty it is definitely a 5! My friends rave about it, and some plan on getting one themselves.

The description says it lasts 1.8 years based on 3 hours per day. That should probably be updated to say they actually last more like 1.8 MONTHS based on 3 MINUTES per day.....awful. We installed these in our bathroom sconces over the last weekend of July and one has already burned out.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by lisielib Do not touch the bulbs!
My bath room vanity has two fixtures using these bulbs. Electrician put them in. Three bulbs (out of five) went out in three weeks. Rather annoying. Replaced them and these lasted two months. THEN, I found out you cannot touch these bulbs with your fingers because the oil in your hands will cause them to burn out quickly. Why don't they tell you that?? Not easy to get to them in tight spaces with gloves! I have no choice so will give it a try. Hope this helps others with this problem.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jeanine Very short lifespan
I bought two of these bulbs for additional vanity lighting in our newly-remodeled bathroom. One of the bulbs burned out after approximately 2 minutes of use. Needless to say, I'm not very happy with the quality. They're also not very bright, which isn't a problem for me, but just thought I'd mention. The other bulb still works fine so maybe I just got a bad one.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by TravelerX OK light fixtures, not so good service life.
I installed 3 Ona light fixtures in my Kitchen/Hall/Dining area. I really like the fixtures and the light they put out, though the 3 x 40 watt fixture I have in the dining room is a bit under powered that is my fault. What I don't like is that 2 of the 11 lights have burned out in 5 months. Not an impressive service life, and at $5 a pop it is kind of irritating.

I purchased two very cool light fixtures for my kitchen. One has been up and working wonderful for 2 1/2 years. It had been the only light for my kitchen.I have finally just installed the second light and they both require these bulbs. I am just now dealing with my first bulb outage and to my surprize no place locally cares this bulb.Since I had originally purchased them online with home depot I just assumed I would be able to order the replacement bulbs online ( we do not have a local home depot)but for some reason they only sell them in their stores. This is something that they should have to let people know who are purchasing online. If I would have been aware of this I would not have purchased them. Now I am stuck with two light fixtures( that where expensive) that I can not get new bulbs for.Thank you Home Depot (note) the bulbs worked just as they should. If the oil from your hands touches the bulb they will burn out very fast you must wear a glove when installing them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DKphx Nice and bright at a good price.
Replaced an odd-ball bulb in my chandelier. Be sure to wear gloves while doing this so you don't get oils from your skin on the bulb. These get really hot and the oils cause them to burn out quite quickly.
