Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is not a 40W equivalent, and is very inefficient This bulb is only a 20W equivalent. With high-efficiency incandescent bulbs outputting >18lm/W 40W would be 720 lumens. This outputs 250W. That's a pretty big difference. Average efficiency for a 40W incandescent is 12.6lm/W, meaning 20W would be 252 lumens. Right on the spot. This is also very inefficient for an LED. At 250lm, this should be around 3W max, not 7W.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CFL replacement for outdoor lighting The product worked as designed as arrived as indicated. I was tired of changing the bulbs in the lamp post and scones illuminating my sidewalk and front door respectively. So I made the change to CFL and was pleased to see the CFL format in the candleabra style. Glad I made the switch.
