HomeBrite by Feit Electric offers an easy, convenient and cost-effective way to introduce smart lighting into any home or business. Simply install HomeBrite LED bulbs and download the free HomeBrite app to your phone or tablet to begin controlling and customizing your lights. Yes these do work for exterior lights such as soffit lights, recessed cans or flush/wall mount exterior lights. However, read other reviews on performance of app, bulb discovery and usability with multiple bulbs.

Ok for outdoor fixture? If I have a dimmer, but don't use the dimmer function will the light still work?

This works, but bulb isn't insulated for outdoor use. May not last for estimated lifespan.

If you set a on/off schedule will it continue on the same schedule without a device in the area? That way when Im on vacation the lights will turn on

Yes tey will as long as there is power they will stay on schedule. Sometimes after a power surge or power outage they will loose programming and either stay on or turn off. Fixable by programming again

I had to finally switch to a different vendor smart bulb because of the poor app the Feit smart bulbs use. There are numerous complaints about the Homebrite software app and yet no one is taking on the challenge to provide updates to it to correct. So, I'm sorry to say Feit has lost me as a customer because of this. I would recommend someone invest some time and money into correcting the app or pay someone a good salary to write a new one altogether.

Set up for groups and schedules was fairly easy and seemed to work well. But within a few days bulbs started turning on and off at all hours of the day. Reset the whole system - very difficult. Finally got everything working again but within a few day bulbs again started turning on and off at random. System/bulbs are VERY undependable. Need constant monitoring. Every week or two, mesh stops responding completely and bulbs have to be reconnected. "Finding" and "connecting to mesh" is almost always time consuming and frustrating. My opinion is that these bulbs are a TOTAL waste of money.

I tried trouble shooting steps, still didn't work. the app was only 2 stars and people are complaining. I couldn't call customer center for 3 days since I was working same hours. I almost returned but I finally could call customer center and the guy helped me very well, we tried many things. (turn on 18 sec and turn off 1-2 sec x 5 times. uninstall app and restart the iPhone and install again. and make sure NOT SAME PASSCODE you setup) finally my phone recognized my bulb!! yay! Can't wait to start my smart bulb life.

I needed something to help me get up in the morning as I used to go to bed at 5am and with my new job I get UP at 5am! It's simple to use and the features are neat. Dimmer (regardless of your lamp), you can name this light bedroom for example if you have multiple, upload a pic of your lamp if you want, there is an on an off button, and you can program it for days you want it to go on and then back off. And it can have multiple schedules too. I can have it go off when my alarm goes off, to help me get up in the early am when its dark outside :) I never thought I would be excited about a light bulb LOL

Set up two groups - 2 lamps in living room & 2 in dining room. Downloaded app to an old iphone4 (the "permanent" controller) and my newer iphone 6Plus (that I can use to control the lights my dynamically). I had no trouble getting the bulbs synced to the apps on both phones. Set up two groups with separate schedules for each. The only issue I have had was one bulb that went bad (just exchanged for a new one at Home Depot). My house is a modest one-story, so the bluetooth signal works flawlessly. I went the bluetooth route after several unsuccessful attempts with both the Wink hub and the GE Link systems. Using these bulbs has been very simple and reliable for me

I wanted to do a wifi setup, but with poor internet speed, i was afraid of overloading my broadband. I found these bulbs with overall good reviews and figured I'd try a few. The price was right for no worries if it fails. But, I'm amazed how well it works. Connected right away, functions great with little delay in brightness adjustments, has more than needed range to use in most applications and the app seems to function great. I will be adding more in the very near future.

The bluetooth standard reaches 30 ft without factoring in anything inbetween. I had an issue initially pairing them to the smart phone app on iOS 10.2 so I called their support phone number. The rep was polite and helped me pair them by reseting the bulbs. Now they work flawlessly. No issues with these and they are an awesome upgrade form photocells and/or motion detectors. You don't need to be tech friendly, just patient sometimes, apparently many who reviewed this product are neither.
