Customer Reviews

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Purchased 5-6 months ago Rated quality excellent because the bulb did what it was supposed to do in brightness, color (yellow for bugs) coverage, etc. Rated the value poor, because they are lasting less than 7 months and advertised for 7 years. And expensive enough to last 14 years. Usage: we use them for dusk to dawn. Some may use them just from dusk to midnight and that would bring the life down 50 %. Still should last 3 1/2 years. I have mentioned this to friends and they have said the CFL bulbs are another one of those great ECO ideas that was over engineered and under developed. April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mandatory Turtle Friendly Lighting May 1 - Nov 1 This light bulb is approved for Turtle Friendly Lighting with Turtle Friendly Light Fixtures. This light bulb is hard to find so a big thank you to the Home Depot at the Forum on Colonial in Ft Myers, FL for helping us out in locating and ordering these bulbs! I work for a Condominium Association, 3 buildings, right on the Gulf of Mexico in Bonita Springs so it is mandatory for us to comply. Thank you! May 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by very unhappy with purchase let me start by saying that I NEVER give bad reviews. if I am unhappy with a product, I just don't review it. BUT, we have replaced 4 of these bulbs and we haven't even used them a whole month yet. I don't know if we got a "dud" box or if all of these are bad quality. May 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far I love it! Living next door to a field means I get bugs of every kind swarming around my porch light. This, of course, attracts dozens of fat and happy spiders. Walking through the doorway at night was no pleasant task, until I installed this bulb. All I see now are a few lonely, thinning spiders who need to find someplace else to eat. Additionally, the bulb is dim enough to allow us to sleep at night. We have a full-light front door that allows the light from the porch in. With a regular CFL bulb the house was just too bright, but this bulb is just right. October 19, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CFL Bug Lights We formerly used amber flood lights as "wall washers" but they were expensive and didn't last very long. Once we began using these, their life is significantly longer and we have to replace them much less often. Besides that, using 13 watts of energy compared to 60 or 75 watts, our energy consumption was also reduced. Nevertheless, although the package says "LASTS UP TO 7 YEARS GUARANTEED," the warranty in small print is for 2 years, which is much more realistic than 7 years. In this case the "UP TO" is a real stretch. April 30, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very happy Smell size, nice warm yellow light, hope not to atract any bugs to lower spiders population April 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Bulb We have installed hundreds of these bulbs at a large resort. They seem to last a couple years at least, also they do not attract bugs in the least. They also last much longer than normal incandescent when they are installed right next to a door which produces vibrations and breaks the filiment in the bulb. October 6, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Well serves the purpose The bulbs aren't very bright to truly work as a light source, but I don't have any more insects and I'm happy about that August 6, 2013
