We have 12 track lights in our kitchen, and @ 65W each - TOO MUCH.
These equivalents are what we need with a person who loves to leave the lights on when no one is in the room.
Other reviews are accurate in terms of warm up time: about 45 seconds at this time of year. Not crazy about that element in the winter here at 8800 ft. But the gain is worth the wait.
Only hope is that they last as long as I expect. I've had them for only a month or so at this point.

Recessed lighting fixtures provide excellent non glare light distribution, however they consume a lot of energy and dissipate unwanted heat when equipped with OEM incandescent spot lights. The 15-Watt (65W) BR30 Fluorescent Reflector bulbs solve both problems, and the light is pleasing to the eye.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Amerist Replacing all these bulbs in my house with something else
I just bought a brand new home with 16 canisters, all pre-stocked by the builder with the ESL15BR30. Since we moved in 10 months ago, 5 of those 16 bulbs have blown out. I am not impressed. Now I have hazardous waste in my home that I can't just throw in the landfill, I have to wait until there's a free collection day for these mercury-containing lamps. They do power on right away but they take about two minutes to reach full brightness, starting at about 60% I would estimate. I would not recommend this bulb, especially for recessed cans in vaulted ceilings (or over staircases) as you will be on a ladder several times a year replacing these bulbs.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Verified Reviewer Good Cheap CFL BR30
Pro: 1) Cheap 2) Green production, save energy, only cost 15w = 65w. 3) Bright, bright, bright, I feel its brightness is like conventional 75w! 4) Nice light color, it is the same color as the conventional bulb, feels even a bit better (not sure how and why though)
Con: 1) Instant start up, but needs 30 seconds or more to reach full brightness. The only reason I give it 4 star.
Overall: highly recommand if you don't too care about 30 seconds warm up. You can buy better CFL BR30, with about double or even more price. I bought 24x to replace my conventional BR30, very satisfied.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Robs Fastest Startup Recessed CFL bulb I've found so far
I have tried dimmable CFL's and many other regular 65W equivalent regular BR30 CFL's. Dimmable CFL's have a long way to go, none ever were even fast to start up and burned out quickly(all returned). I took out my dimmer switch (used dimmed lights maybe twice in 6 years) and put back in a regular switch. These bulbs are instantly 70-75% bright, taking 30-45 seconds for full brightness, but at least you can actually see when these bulbs come on unlike many other CFL's I've tried. They are brighter (10-15%) than the 65W incandescent bulbs they replaced, the color is great, not perfect as I would label these a just a little whiter than the incandescent.
I would buy these again, provided they last like they are supposed to (just installed them)

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by waigui very short life
a bought a dozen of these a year ago and I ran out of them already. Only 4 left installed. The other 8 have been recycled (dead). And they are supposed to be 8000+hr life... neh... I normally use them for 6 consecutive hours (no turning on/off) per day, so this should give me 5 years MINIMUM. I leave in this house for 4 years and still has some of the original bulbs which BRAND name I am not going to mention (who knows when they were originally installed!).

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by tabipapa not quite as good as I thought.
I agree with a few of the reviews about the length of time it takes for the bulbs to reach full brightness, roughly a minute or two. Not really a big issue. The light they give out is sufficient for my needs so no complaints about this. I purchased three 6-packs of these bulbs as I needed to replace 15 bulbs. The after 9 months or so use, my three spares are now installed as well, as 5 bulbs have now died. I will need to purchase more bulbs, however, not ones made by this company.
