I needed bulbs with this non-standard base for a bathroom fixture that was installed during a renovation. The contractor only showed me the outside of the fixture. I didn't even know about the base until the bulb went out -- five years after it was installed, which I guess speaks to its longevity. The first two bulbs I bought (not at Home Depot) were too big for the fixture and had to be returned. This bulb actually fits -- barely. The morale of this story is that you should thoroughly check out any fixtures before your approve them.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RG Great product, watch the labels carefully
These bulbs do a great job, last a long time and give even bright light. However, there are several different types of these, from those that produce yellowish light to those that produce an almost pure white light. So be sure that when you buy bulbs with rotating sockets, look at your fixture and buy enough to replace all of them. Save the box so that when you replace bubs in the future, the level and color of the light produced matches that of the bulbs already in the fixture. I didn't. Should have. Products are good though, lasting a long time with clear, bright light.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by kjbjr Nothing like gold old incandescent bulbs...
Nothing beats the warm glow of an incandescent bulb. We put this in our new fixture in the laundry room after a refresh on paint and floor. During the day, the color of the paint on the walls is perfect and warm. But at night, with the CFL light, it is sterile and harsh--almost gives it a blue grey hue. The energy savings are nice, but I can afford $1 a day for colors I like.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dave It's a light bulb.......
Bulb is what I needed to replace a dead one in a bathroom fixture and it worked. The only problem that I encountered was with the packaging that caused the bulb to fly out and smash...... open carefully!!!
