Customer Questions & Answers

Will this withstand bush growth?

I want to put this in a fence that has bushes that grow through from the other side if I can trim it back enough. Will this hold up as the bush grows back, retraining the direction of growth, or will it just ruin the fencing?
Asked by: Vjg
I don't think this would hold up to a bush pushing through it. The strain on the fasteners would probably cause tears. You'd have to keep the bush cut away from the fence.

Need approx. 60" of alsts.

Planning on covering approx. 60" of chain link fencing in back yard. Looks like your product resembles red wood color. How many bundles would I need and how much would it cost me. Does each bundle cover 10" running feet or 40"
Asked by: Frank
The box says it will cover 6 and 2/3 feet of 6' fence and that seems about right. 4' fence, one box, 10'.

If I have a 6feet high and 80 feet wide fence how many rolls do I need?

Asked by: Vette
for a six foot fence about a box and a half every ten feet. Therefore, 12 boxes. The box says it covers 40 square feet, or a 4'x10' section.

Will this give good shade for a dog run?

I have a HUGE dog run, I wanted to put this on one side just to block the morning sun. I'm not sure if it will work well with the gaps in between.
Asked by: JS

How do you punch the holes for the fasteners? Do you put fasteners top & bottom for each slat? Do u cut with scissors?

I ordered 2 rolls, but only one had fasteners included.
Asked by: Razzled
I used an ice pick to make small starter holes. A little screwdriver or anything else that will make just a small hole will do. You can just poke them through but it's easier with a pilot hole. Scissors cuts it easily. I started by fastening a piece at the top ran it down the length I needed, cut it and wove it in. Did the entire top first (and the side ones) fastening and weaving, went back and did the bottom fasteners afterward. Be sure you make the run long enough. Once you get the hang of it it goes really fast. Go back to Home Depot with the no fasteners problem. They are including more in a box than they used too, but it still isn't enough when you figure breakage and the ones that fall down and get lost in the grass. And that short size isn't readily available. It looks really good done. I'm waiting to finish the other half of my fence until this one has been through a winter. Good luck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Practical, Simple to Install, Inexpensive Got several boxes of this to block my dogs' view of people and cars going by the house so they would be less inclined to bark at them. It took me maybe 20 minutes to figure out exactly how to push the brad through the plastic, and how to determine whether I should be weaving in front of the chain link or behind it so that both ends would be on the outside of the fence, and the cut ends on the inside. With two colors I made a diagonal stripe like the one on the box. It's attractive, and the dogs don't seem to know what they're missing. Haven't had it long enough to comment on its durability, but the warranty is for five years. It's fairly tedious work, so bring some tunes. And don't let your beagle eat the brads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I purchased 12 boxes of the fence weave @ a total cost of $360. I covered my entire fence for privacy. The $3,000.00 I saved on purchase and installation of a new wood fence made this time consuming process worth the savings. I spent 1 1/2 hours a day for (2) weeks until I finished the yard. Not so bad if you do one box a day. I'd do this again and I love the look of the redwood and I'm enjoying my privacy at a low cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buy Something Better- These Constantly Tear and Come Off. I used this on a 6' tall X 50' long chain link fence. It looked good just after I installed it but i've had nothing but problems with it for the next 6 months. I live in a fairly windy area and every morning i would notice one or two of the slats would be torn off where they were attached to the fence with the brass fastener's. I installed this in the summer when the temperature outside was about 90 degrees and above. Now that its winter and the temperature outside is 50 degrees and under, the slats have contracted and torn and pulled the brass fasteners out. I've repeatedly punched new holes in them and reattached them making the ends look like swiss cheese and torn up. I recommend you spend more money and buy the heavy duty thicker slats. I will try to get a refund and replace this with a better product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product was exactly what we were looking for. We compared this produce to similar products from the competitors. They did not have the color selection and special orders would take up to 8 weeks to get back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice It took me a couple of days to complete the whole fence, but everyone in the family agrees -- looks great. Seems well made and is easy to install. Using the manufacture's recommendations for measuring will yield you more supply than you need; but excess allows you to become creative in a cross pattern. Hint: have a small sharp pointed tool to create small holes for the brass pins (which you get an abundance of 250 pieces per box) and other than that, you only need a pair of good scissors. We used "redwood" stain color and it matches our redwood stained decks perfectly.
