Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Absolute junk Every seam where I've used this tape has eventually cracked. Every. Single. One. Had to strip the seams down to get this junk out, then redo them all with paper tape. I should never have even bothered trying this stuff, and will never use it again. Ever. May 14, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Guaranteed to fail. Ask any professional - this stuff is junk. Will not resist shifting of panels. Joints crack every time - stick to good old paper tape. June 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Paper tape should be illegal- Use this. There are few thing that bother me more than seeing paper tape pop out of a joint. Seems like no matter how well it's done, it will fail somewhere. This glass tape always works. Great for joints and also repairs. I've fixed doorknob sized holes without patching. Secret is that you need to chamfer both the inside and outside edge of the hole, make sure the paper is trimmed clean, and let the tape bow into the hole a little. Mix the first coat thick and push it in from the edges to the center. This will not work for ceilings. Those you'll need to patch, but use this glass tape around the edges. Note that corners can be tricky as it will break if folded hard. Just let the corner fold it for you and you'll be fine. Prefold it and you'll end up with two pieces of tape. Another thing. Don't leave the roll sitting out if you sand the joints. The dust will make the first 5 layers unsticky. May 30, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for a Taping novice. I have never taped seams before. This stuff made it a little more bearable. I haven't quite mastered it, but this helps. No need for a base coat of compound. Lay this stuff first. I even used it in the corners, against recommendation and it worked awesome.I would recommend to the scared first time taper! Great stuff! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst product ever! The tape edge on one side kept sticking to the roll so one side was always frayed. Then whenever drywall compound was applied, the cut ends and frayed side frayed even more. It was TERRIBLE to use. And it did not adhere well. I'd put it on, turn around for a few minutes & when I turned back, it had fallen off! Expensive, really poor product. April 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really Good I bought this to fix a hole in my wall. It worked really well for me and is really easy to cover with putty. Good Product August 13, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Less work I used this tape for patching several 1' holes in the kitchen. The tape stuck right to the drywall and I used joint compound over the tape. Sanded once and I was done. Also, I used the tape on drywall joints. I took out soffetts and had to place drywall overhead where the soffetts were. Using the tape on the ceiling cut my time in half. Tape joint, compound it...wait 24hrs...sand. Maybe touchup. Paint. I'll never use regular joint tape again. I did not use this tape on any inside corners. I used other self-sticking joint tape.
