Answer:
Mesh will easily replace any loose tape, provided you remove any existing loose tape and plaster/mud. A "V" trowel which allows you to skim a new coat on both the wall and ceiling at the same time, will give you a smooth and even layer across both surfaces at the same time.

Answer:
yeah...the trick will be in the mudding part...so cut the paper tape where it is starting to show and becoming loose (you should see the seem of the drywall), put the mesh tape on and be ready to apply you compound and sanding (repeat if necessary for smooth surface)
Hope that helps...not an expert, so only speaking from experience (also, plenty of examples on youtube)

Answer:
Yes this is my favorite place to use it. Remove old paper tape with blade carefully then press on the fibra tape to the vertical wall. Then use a small piece of wood with a sharp corner to make a perfect ninety degree line. Then apply the mud and sand as normal.

Yes – but all existing sagging tape needs to be removed first.

Standard 1-7/8 in. x 500 ft. White Self-Adhesive Mesh Drywall Joint Tape FDW8662-U is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's tape, good for beginners. Easy to install, follow the directions and it will work as described. I'm a beginner and this product was easy to apply and cover. Paper tape is preferable and with some experimentation you can get that looking good. Had to do the corners with paper so I mixed and matched.

It adheres to itself on the roll, but once off the roll it sticks to nothing. Not even drywall with a fresh thin coat of joint compound. I think it is aptly named. It fibas abount being self-adhesive.

Be careful when beginning roll as edge fiber can cone off and then you always have this hanging strand to contend with as you unroll the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs I'd always used paper tape for drywall and a mesh for plaster crack repairs. This time, I was looking for something stronger for a garage workshop where maybe the panels weren't going to all be even. I also wanted self-sticking since I wasn't going to have a helper and I'm not very practiced in taping and mudding anymore and some runs were nearly 2 stories long. I really liked this tape. It sticked well enough but could still be repositioned. It worked well over metal corner bead as well. I would recommend and would buy it again.
