CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by It's the Best for Old 2 Wire, 750 Gas Millivolt Heater Systems. It's very accurate, easy to connect, easy to operate, the best instructions, and looks great. It's the best on the market for the old gas Millivolt Heater systems. We replaced the Robert Shaw controls in our building with this one and the performance has been remarkable. The Shaw Millivolt Slider did not have a battery regulator like this one does and that made the difference. Without some low power source we found that the heaters failed to trigger at times, and tenants complained that they were cold in the middle of the night. We have received no complaints with this system and it looks more professional too, and we feel that it reduces energy costs. The instructions that come with it are the best we have ever seen for any electronics and made the job easy. We did not need to hire a professional. If you do one, you can do others in approx. 15 minutes. Everything on the unit is easily marked. Best of all, unlike most other systems that have a slider--with this system, you don't have to constantly re-set the temperature to turn it off! It comes with an on-off switch. So your settings are always maintained. If you leave for the day, you just turn it off--no need to remember what temp you previously had. Everyone likes that. Just one thing that we did not like on the unit--it's not essential to the operation of the thermostat, but we would have liked to see a thermometer so you know where you are at. We tested them with an external thermometer, but the unit should really have had an internal. No reason not to include this on the unit. One last note: While this unit controls both heat and A/C, we have no A/C in the units and just use the Heat functions and that is fine to do. December 14, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works fine high quality product I have a very old gas furnace needs millivolt thermostat. Previous owner installed a new Honeywell T827K1009 purely mechanical. Its on/off switch uses a steel ball to contact switch poles and has contact problem or randomly works. I'm not sure other Honeywell products, yet all millivolt ones listed as 750mV so I'm afraid it won't work well. This one is cheaper yet uses electronics and commercial switches and works well. It is non programmable yet controls most single stage heater/aircon. For millivolt setup (non 24V product) it uses two AA battery that lasts for one year. This one has no temp indicator, I use one on my clock. It would be better to add an let indicator whether furnace is running. November 15, 2009
