Do specifications for these units allow electrical receptacles above the unit?

I live in the twin tiers of NY & the hydronic baseboard units will be extending along much of my exterior walls that also need receptacles.

Codes have changed over the years but our current house built in 1958 has electrical outlets above hydronic baseboard units. No problems to date...

I am sorry but I am not sure I completely understand your question. I can;t speak to electrical codes and thus the permissible location of outlets. That would be a question for an electrician or a code enforcement officer in your area. However I can tell you that hydronic perimeter heating using 180F water puts out about 580 BTU's per linear foot. That is not an intense amount of heat. Thus I have seen Read More

Thus I have seen outlets above baseboard as well as couches and drapes right up against them without incident. These obstructions will effect heat output but do not pose a hazard. Read Less

can I sweat a fitting on to this without damaging the fins and do both ends look the same

Hi chas,
You can use Shark Bite fittings for this connection.
They are compression fit on both ends ans will accept Pex tubing or copper.
