Customer Questions & Answers

Is the height adjustable?

What is the height of this heater?
Asked by: Sam
The height on mine is adjustable. The three section pedestal utilizes clamps at each of the two joints, similar to the type used on a bicycle seat post, which when loosened, will allow you to adjust the desired height with relative ease. Hope this will help.

Is the heater adjustable for regular use or not? There seems to be conflicting information. The awning over our deck will not accommodate a 93" heater.

1,500-Watt Stainless Steel Infrared Electric Patio Heater is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficient, Effective and Easy to Use This heater is very different from the standard round propane outdoor heater. The heat is concentrated in one area and is very effective at heating that area. It not only emits heat, but also bright light, which is nice at night, vs. the propane heater which only emits heat. The heater is easy to assmble and store. To use it, you plug it into a grounded socket and turn it on - no starters, matches, lighters, etc. I highly recommend it. If there was drawback, which I have not found to be an issue, is that there is just an on and off switch, no adjustment to the level of heat. But, if you use it outside, that should not be a problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features I bought my first Patio Heater about four years ago then bought two more for adult children. I just bought another for my son-in-law for his new patio. This one has a great new feature, an easy on/off switch located conveniently on the side of the telescoping pole. It was Intricate but not too difficult to install. It takes the chill off a pleasant spring outdoor supper. to assemble.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good heater Well constructed and puts out a decent amount of heat. Obv not as much as a propane but nice to just plug it in, turn on and not run out of gas.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pleased with purchase The heater arrived without damage. It was not too difficult to assemble, but the instructions would be improved with better diagrams/photos of how to orient the parts (so 4 stars instead of 5). So far, have only used it once for a dinner party on a cool summer evening, but we were very pleased with the result. It nicely warmed everyone at the table where 6 people were having dinner. The heater is perfect for taking the chill off when we want to dine outside on a cool summer evening.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bulb Issues I recommend waiting until the bulb technology improves. I’ve had my Fire Sense IR heater for many years and the bulbs are a real problem. Each time I replace a bulb I have to go back and forth with Fire Sense multiple times before finally getting a bulb that lasts more than a few hours. At one point I even got bulbs that overheated, melted the bulb wires, and eventually ruined the power connections in the unit. They claim it’s more cost effective than propane, but I doubt they’re factoring in the $65 replacement bulbs along with the electricity. When they burn out quickly you’ll have to explain why it’s not your fault, in my case I know it isn’t because I’ve had bulbs last well over a year and many hours. I finally gave up after my last burn out but I may try again in a few years if the technology improves.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended Height of heater is not adjustable nor is direction of heat adjustable. No on/off switch. You have to plug and unplug each time you use it. Area that is heated is very small. You have to be right under it to feel the heat. I only had it for a year and it quit working. And considering it only got used in the winter months, it is not worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY FRAGILE It only lasts for 3 weeks or so before you need to replace the bulb and they are $65.00 each stay away from this heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extends summer into fall A friend had a few of these and after being out on a cool fall day I'm so glad I got my own. It raises the temperature on the patio enough that I can enjoy extended evenings outside even when the temperature dips into the 40's. If you livid in climate were evenings get chilly then you'll really appreciate. Just plug it in and enjoy the extra warmth.
