The 4-inch tiled edge of this fire pit offers a safety feature from a hot fire bowl.
We've thoroughly enjoyed the features of this round fire pit, that we bought another for my folks newly built home. They've got a large yard and this unit works out in the grass or up on the cement patio. The fire screen helps to protect us and their grandchildren from the hot coals that sometimes pop out from burning wood. The tiled edge doubles as a perfect place to set drinks.
*Burning wood is not preferable on a wooden deck or near
anything flammable, since hot coals may pop unexpectedly. Use the screen cover for the most protection.

Lovely item out of the box. However, exposed to the summer elements (brief rain showers, humidity) within a few days began to show signs of rusting on the (metal) natural stone-look mantel. Grate rusts easily. Needs a drain hole in the ash pan so rain water does not accumulate.
For the money quality could be better.

The pieces to the firepit are stamped slightly off so not all of the holes line-up. This makes inserting and tightening all the bolts impossible - no matter how we configured it. It was frustrating but not so much that it was worth the hassel of shipping back.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Carol111l Like the fire pit but,
The painted grout lines started peeling off almost immediately creating quite a mess. The pit will be fine as soon as I am able to get rid of all the white paint, but right now it looks very shabby.

We purchased 3 of these pits for 3 of our children and their families. They all live in areas where fire must be contained.
This is a way of putting them (as we did when they were small) outside on a starry night and roasting marshmallows and remembering the 'old times'. This is a safe and yet attractive way of giving them special and 'warm' family time together and when we go to visit them we can 'walk down memory lane with them and make new memories with our grandchilden.
We really love this item for its looks, price and the 'warmth' it brings to our children.

Have had several fires now with the "pit" and enjoyed them all. Its large enough to get a good fire going and puts out plenty of heat. The light colored paint doesn't last but I don't care after a few more fires it will look great! I'm guessing right now that it will last a long time based on it's simple yet sturdy design.

I ordered this fire pit to keep us cozy on our new patio. we have used it several times "camping in", roasting marshmallows and connecting as a family. i love the look of it. it seems to be very sturdy. the legs have a nice curve and the stone-look rim is heavy cast iron and seems to stay cool when fire is burning. the screen for the top is attractive and keeps little hands out of the ashes after the coals are cooled. i would not use the screen while the fire is burning because it will warp the screen, but it does complete the look when not burning. overall this has been a great purchase
