The porch is covered with a ~12 foot gabled roof.

There is screen on one full side, about 5 fee high and on about half of two other walls, also about 5 feet high? The area is well ventilated, but is not completely outside.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 40 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase I just recently bulit an outdoor living and this patio heater was a great addition! I've already run through 3 propane tanks in about two weeks. Easy to assemble and looks great as well. Super practical, as it probably adds several months of additional outdoor living area usage (46,000 BTU's) versus not having the heater. An absolute must. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good so far. Pretty easy to assemble. A 1/4 drive metric socket set makes assembly much easier than using the adjustable wrenches the instructions suggest. This heater is very tall and works best for a large area. My deck is only 11 X 17 so I may cut and re drill the vertical tube to lower the heater head. The ignition system works really well. I've had a couple of cheap patio heaters with pilot light systems that only lasted a year or two due to thermocouple failures. These were next to impossible to replace so I ended up pitching a lot of scrap metal. Hopefully this heater won't have this kind of issue. October 11, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It heats, but... Assembly went OK, hooked it up and nothing. The igniter button only works if I push the button sideways as well as in. Also, does not throw heat evenly all around as evidenced by lopsided heat 'burn' signature around the burner screen. At over $100 more than other brands, I expected better. October 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to assemble. Great heat. I ordered this heater about a week ago. It arrived in 4 days. It only took me about half an hour to assemble on Saturday morning. That evening it lit immediately. It kept us warm with a glass of wine on the patio. It looks great and is easy to move around. We will get a lot of use out of it during the fall in New England. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product with small fix Great product easily assembly except the top shield in which some of the screws were stripped making it tough add nut to them. Had to remove washer in order to do so. suggest adding longer screws. also shield is flimsy it came bent when shipped had to reshape but still not perfect as the pictures. October 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Puts out a lot of heat! Easy to assemble, clear instructions, lit on first try. Puts out a lot of heat. This is my second Fire Sense Patio heater and I am very pleased with it. Customer service was very good in sending me a replacement part on the ignitor. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to assemble It took two hours from start to finish. I used a 10mm & 13mm socket, adjustable wrench and a Phillip's screwdriver. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Once assembled, and I realized I had to insert a AAA battery, (super easy to insert) it took all of 1-2 seconds for the heater to fire up. It seemed like it couldn't wait to start up! I also bought a full-lengh cover for it. That will help protect it off-season. I can't wait for a cool evening to use it. One comment... I agree with another review that said to use a ladder to attach the top dome, instead of tilting the heater. That made a lot of sense. July 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Assembly/great heating/solidly built Arrived today and found the packaging to be very good. Easy assembly although we made it much easier with 2 people versus solo. Very sturdy and all stainless fittings so it wont rust. Immediately turned on and heated our patio area perfectly. August 21, 2016
