The ceramic crumbles when wet. This product is a good idea with cheap research and execution. I've had a green egg for years and it does not crumble!

This charcoal grill works well and is similar to cooking on a grill without the lid. I find cooking with charcoal, a lid is a better option to control heat and flavor. Other than that, this is a good little grill for two people or a small family.

Must keep out of the rain. Falls apart and crumbles into nothing when it becomes wet. Used it one time.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friday Yakatori Grill--Great Value
I have only had the grill a week and have used it 4 times. You can use just one side with charcoal for cooking and the other side for warming rolls/veggies. With the clay sides the unit stays warm for a very long time. Only wish it had a metal lid for smoking but foil works good. The only downside are the little metal legs--they are not really strong enough to support the weight. But in all, glad I bought it for sure.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OsLew Fantastic Yakitori Cooker!
I was delighted to find such a well-made ceramic-based hibachi-style charcoal cooker at ANY price, but especially at such a reasonable price. The special cooking qualities of the ceramic body make the very best Japanese barbecue, and I'm sure it would work just as well for sausages and hamburgers.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by waldo perfect for what it is
Delivered as advertised in good condition, very well packaged.
Don't confuse this with a barbeque, it's made for skewers but can fit a couple burgers or 3 pork chops / chicken breasts, and the space for coals is not at all what you need for long burn times.
I have a wood burner in my house and I can take a pot full of coals from the fire and place them into the Yakatori grill and cook right away with very good results, and the nature of the material used in the walls and bottom of the grill is such that the heat tends to distribute well and the heat doesn't tend to be as scorchy as a hibachi grill. For my small family it's just perfect.
