It comes with its own mounting plate so I THINK you can use it. I replaced all of mine at the same time.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 88 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Smoke detectors Good value for homes or rental houses and meets all codes August 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely difficult to replace batteries. The detectors install ok and work ok, but replacing the batteries is very difficult. The sliding cover is extremely hard to close, and the detector will beep until the cover is fully closed. Some of the covers are also hard to open. Poor design and quality on a moving part that needs to be accessed twice a year. August 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As advertised..... Nice product. Excellent for replacing my aged detectors already. Wiring was easy August 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install, easy to understand Very easy to install if you have a basic understanding of electrical. My package did not come with wire nuts or mounting screws for the mounting/dust plate so be sure to get some if you do not already have them. August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install, but had to make another trip to Home Depot I had to replace battery operated smoke detectors with interconnected hardwired smoke detectors with battery back-ups in order to pass inspection for a rental. I was surprised to see that they did not come with screws to attach to the junction boxes! There were no wire caps either. This meant ANOTHER trip to Home Depot and lost time. The frustration factor is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. May 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by smoke detecor simple replacement of existing units 18 years old! April 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor design choices This smoke detector is supposed to be a replacement to the ADC 120-1072B. The base is different and the wiring. This detector is also ionization type so it is not good in a kitchen as everything sets it off, for a kitchen you need model P12040, again this model does not use the same base as the product on this page, the i5000 model i4618a. It makes you wonder if Kidde just couldn't get the design right, did they do it on purpose, just a screw up, I have no idea how the product will hold up if they cannot even get the base and connectors right. Ohh and the first one had a broken interconnect so it would not tell the other units it was in alarm, I threw it out in disgust. February 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by horrible installation i went to replace exact item with this new one after ten years. They changed the connector to a triangle shape from a 3 pin horizontal shape. Have to rewire everything April 19, 2016
