Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 41 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Some false alarms I have installed 4 of these particular smoke alarms. Installation was easy and testing was fine. However, I installed one in my toddler's room that kept having false alarms. One false alarm happened at about midnight while a second happened at about 3 a.m. I don't know what caused them; or what causes them to go off in the middle of the night instead of the daytime. It was infuriating being woken up and searching for the right alarm to silence while still half asleep. I returned the defective unit and have not had any problems with the replacement. On a side note, the alarms seem ultra sensitive. One was set of by a humidifier in a bedroom. March 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for replacing contractor/builder 10 yr old plus detectors easy to install and just what I wanted to replace 10yr old plus detectors that were only ionization only. This detector porovides ionization, photoelectric sensors plus battery back up. June 10, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by great features, questionable life I've been putting these in my rentals over the years as appreciate the feature set to protect my tenants. That being said, these appear to be designed to have a 5yr lifespan, plus or minus a year, and they start to consistently fail. I would normally have no issue with this if it was a reasonable limit on detector, but clearly it is not (I'd expect 10-15yrs). Once you understand this, can figure out for yourself what the real value is. The feature set is excellent, the lifespan not so much. October 4, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement for Contractor Grade I purchased a three of these to replace the contractor grade smoke detectors that were installed when the house was built. I thought it would be a good idea to have a dual sensor vice the less expensive smoke detectors. I purchased these last year (Feb 2013) and I had one fail a couple of nights ago. False alarm at around 11 PM and then again at 3 AM. Not something you'd want to wake up to. Replacing the battery did not help. Neither did cleaning the unit. I found the instruction booklet which contain the warranty information (10 year), but... really? I have to ship the unit to Kiddie, show proof of purchase (which I can't find the receipt), and pay for postage to/from Kiddie. In the mean time I'm without a smoke detector? Are you kidding me? I expected that a smoke detector and cost over $30 last more that 10 months. I am going to attempt to contact the manufacturer's customer service for assistance. December 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for our use Easy to install and foolproof. Replaced 22 year old units. March 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by easy to install and integrate The alarms were easy to install and integrated well with other existing alarms. No false alarms since installation. March 24, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by False Alarms Bought 3 of these in 2012. After 2.5 years one of the three started going off in the middle of the night for no reason. Changed battery. Cleaned. Switched locations. Still alarms for no reason. February 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by tired of false alarms I bought six of these to replace my ten year old smokes and wanted the security of the dual alarm. We get woken up at least once a month by false alarms. They only go off long enough to wake you up, not for you to see which of the six is causing the alarm. February 7, 2015
