I purchased this tub in 2010 and it cracked today and dumped a bunch of water in the basement. In looking for the company info I see that this is a common problem.. And for those of us that have to deal with I'm sure it will be an expensive one since I will have to pay to have it ripped out and replaced, never mind the stress of not having a shower/tun until it can be replaced. Honestly the company needs to get behind its products and start covering replacement costs!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JPS Cracked after 3 years, poor design/build
Though the in-store display was careful to point out the thickness of the material as a selling feature, it turns out the tub was much thinner in high stress areas and has cracked. Also, there was insufficient support around the lower inner part of the tub to support the weight of a person showering.

This tub only lasted 3 years and then it CRACKED. When we bought this tub we thought it was a great deal, A large soaking tub for a great price. The issue appears to be the fact the bottom of the tub that sits on the sub floor is made of a 6in thick piece of Styrofoam. The issue is that over time the Styrofoam compresses and creates a soft spot, as that spot flexes over time it creates a small crack. That small crack will then lead to a large expense. There is nothing worse then spending a few thousand dollars on a new tub and nice tile and then 3 years later needing to rip it all out because the tub needs to be replaced. We had to remove our tub surround and replace part of the floor tile to put in a new tub. If you are looking at this tub I would strongly suggest NOT TO BUY THIS TUB!! I replaced the ASB Tub with a Kohler tub and it is by far a much better tub. Its made out of stronger material and the base sits on wood and fiberglass that wont compress over time.

I redid my bathroom three years ago. I notice 6 months into installation of my tube 3 long lines on the middle of the tub but thought my little boy had scratch the tub with his toys. Months later I hear cracking sounds. The lines were longer and there was more then three there was like five lines. Now the tub is leaking to my downstairs bathroom. I have to now spend on having it replace and fixing my wall downstairs. All because the Firenze company decided to make such a cheap product. I will be contacting this company.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stephan great purchase, sturdy bathtub
The manufacturer improved the base of this tub, this is now a grid of plastic PVC with an extension to keep the front skirt straight, there is no flex in the base of the tub and it was pretty simple to install, just pay attention to the drain and return dimension, we found out that the 15" indicated was too high, you are closer to 14 than 15. we hope to be able to review this item in 2 or 3 years and report no crack.

Great looking tub, I purchased it due to my remodeling my baths and installed it. After installing them, it only took a few months before I began to notice cracks in both tubs and the cracks began to leak water through my ceilings ruining the drywall costing me more money to replace. Do not be an idiot as I was, and purchase this worthless product in which I purchased 2 of then. Oh the same of it all.

Well i purchased this tub 2 years ago. The sales rep said it would be just as good as any other tub... I took out my 60 year old tub and replaced it with this one. Luckily Im in the middle of remodeling my bathroom again (making it bigger) because i just noticed a 6inch crack in the bottom of the tub.
I think i put it in 2/12 its now 1/14 didnt even make it 2 years.

This is a easy product to install if you share up the opening. I would recommend using a 4' level.
