The two pair I currently was using were my dad's and they were about 30 years old. I was in Home Depot and grabbed these since they looked a lot like my old ones, except for the orange color. Big mistake. Within weeks, the stitching holding the extra layer of leather over the pointer finger came loose on both gloves and the extra layer now flaps around. Also the denim is already torn with bare knuckle areas now showing. What a disappointment! I now have gone to Wally World and bought their denim and leather gloves for under $2. No pointer finger layer on these, just nice leather. From what I can tell, the Wally World gloves should last me longer that the ones from Home Depot. Worst case scenario...even if the Wally World gloves only last as long as the HD gloves, they are less than half the price. But trust me, looking at the construction, the gloves from WM will last much longer simply because they don't have the design flaw of the pointer finger layer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pulling down vines I've tried a lot of different gloves through the years, and these worked excellently pulling down vines, up rooting throney weeds and grabbing branches. Spoke to a couple employees in the wood working area, and they said they may only last you a couple of weeks to a month of heavy use, but they will protect your hands. The gloves are made to rip before you do. For the price you can't beat it, and the biggest plus is not cuts on my hands after being in the yard for 3 hours fighting with greenbrier vines.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seriously consider another pair of gloves Bought these because of the "double leather palm." After the first day of constructing a concrete block landscaping wall, the right hand thumb and index finger started to tear apart (leather and stitching). On the second day, the thumb and index finger wore through, as did the backside of the thumb. Yes, the backside. Could poke my thumb through the leather. The left hand glove had very little wear. Would advise customers to choose another glove, And beware of the "Firm Grip 3-pack." Same issue - shoddy stitching.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'm Done With Firm Grip! This is my second pair of Firm Grip gloves. The other was a $20 pair of unbelievably fragile gloves that didn't last a week. I decided to go cheap and get these since they had the extra padding in the palm where I need it. Sure enough, one week later, they're ruined. The stitching has come loose on the index finger and palm, exposing the thin material underneath which tore open. I'd include pictures but they're almost identical to the ones already posted. So again, I have to find some gloves that can stand up to a shovel but they sure as heck won't be made by Firm Grip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Seriously poor craftsmanship These gloves are so poorly made it is not funny. We got these gloves one month ago and they have fallen apart. I would not even bother to take up precious retail space if I was Home Depot. They are not worth the low price they are sold at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Protection Used these to pull blackberries and they worked great. No thorns penetrated the palm portion, here and there on the fingers.
