The "male" version is about half the price of these. Any reason why?

I have a pair of these in hand (brand new) that say XL. I want to buy more. I have a hard time believing there are NO XL size gloves of this type available in the entire USA inventory?

I hope to use these gloves to handle hot sugar for hard candy making. They work well for this task, but I do not know if they are approved for this use by the FDA, which is important because I hope to sell the candy. To the manufacturer: Are you able to provide a USDA/FDA letter of guarantee?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 38 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Quality, decent price and availability. I have had several pair of the Deerskin gloves and love them. The yellow stain disappears after a couple of times getting them wet. They remain soft even after soaking in water or other liquids. I have machine washed mine a couple of times and they came out in good condition. when the seams burst or wear out, or the finger tips, I use some Sail Twine to sew them back together and 1 pair has lasted almost 2 years. I handle hot iron, firewood and just plain garden and lawn work - love these gloves. November 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid product but no bargain These gloves were comfortable, if a bit big, but none of the other models Home Depot carries came close to fitting me. I liked the feel of the deerskin, but thought that at $19.97, they were priced just a bit high. Note: I bought these for sport use (I engage in historical fencing with special practice weapons), not gardening or other work. August 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Well made These deerskin leather gloves were soft, but durable. Very well made, comfortable from the first wearing. Expecting many years of use therefore the price point at our local Home Depot was excellent. The only issue at all, thus the 4 star, vs. 5, is something that may not be possible to avoid ... the yellow gold color did stain the nails (fingernails) when hands sweat due to working outdoors in the summer heat for some time. It will be a temporary stain, of course, with a little brush cleaning a time or two, but just be aware. Other than that, an excellent product. August 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great I have strong hands that have chubby fingers but the length if womens fingers. It is hard to fund glives rhat fit me. I have real working hands, not dainty. These glives fit perfectly and are soft with seems to cause blisters. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic As Shooting Gloves! This is my 4th set of these gloves although I have not worn out any. I just liked them so much as shooting gloves, that I wanted to make sure they did not disappear from the shelves. The flexibility and soft texture of the gloves make them ideal for use as shooting gloves. I use gloves to shoot whether it is cold or warm outside and these are superior to many specifically made for that sport. They may not fit manly-men with large hands but they fit me perfectly! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Gloves Gloves are soft but durable and fit nicely, Have heavier gloves for heavy duty projects but these are good for smaller less dirty jobs. Only con is smell left on hands. February 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product these gloves are soft - no break in period - they fit better than other leather gloves - i bought two pairs - the one downside is since they are thinner than cowhide they can wear out faster but so much better while you have them. worth it if you can't find gloves to fit - finger tips wont curl under April 26, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not a work glove Used three times to handle firewood before multiple large holes in the finger tips worn through. If you aren't using these for anything other than keeping your hands warm, they are okay. January 10, 2015
