Product Overview

The BRK hardwire smoke alarm with photoelectric sensor is designed to reduce common "nuisance" alarms. It's an excellent choice for installations in or near kitchens, near fireplaces, or in hallways directly outside bathrooms, utility rooms, or other areas prone to steam. The alarm has a photoelectric sensor which is more effective at detecting smoldering fires which smolder for hours before bursting into flame.

  • Alarm can be interconnected with up to 12 other compatible smoke alarms
  • 10 year limited warranty

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job... This unit replaced the First Alert Model N. SC7010B. Snapped right into my existing connector although one is sent with unit. The batteries also come with the unit although different from one specified. All in all good unit. October 19, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by First Alert Alarms leave a lot to be desired I purchased this product to replace an existing first alert alarm. This is the 3rd alarm I've had to purchase. The 1st failed after 4 years, The 2nd after 1 year. This will be my last go around with first alert. The next time I will replace all alarms in the house with another brand. The alarms start going off for no reason. Note this is not Home Depot's fault because they just sell them. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good combination detector We purchased this because the combination alarm that had been installed had reached its end of life. We needed a replacement one and they were not sold in stores. We liked the alarms because it was a combination alarm and had a voice feature to tel you where the problem was. However, the one we purchased online did not have the voice feature. Unfortunately, I did not know that before purchasing it. The alarm still works but I would have preferred to have the one with the voice feature. This is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Short Life, poor customer service - Don't place your safety in First Alert We had these units installed in our home when it was built in June 2010. Within 1 year the thing would begin chirping intermittently for no reason, often waking us up in the middle of the night. About 2 months ago, the chirping incidents became more frequently leading to an almost constant chirp that could only be silenced momentarily. We called the fire department and they said it sounded like it was a faulty unit and probably needed to be replaced. Since we had 6 of these units all chirping, having to disconnect them all one by one, we decided to look up the warranty information which we found to be 7 years. We called First Alert and were informed that the unit we had from 2010 has only a 5 year warranty as stated in the 2008 manual. Unfortunately this manual is not available to consumers. To be honest I am in quite disbelief that a product of this nature would have a life of only 5-6 years. I am learning that others in my neighborhood who had houses built around the same time are all having the same issue. In my last house of 15 years, we never once had to replace a single unit. I also am in disbelief that First Alert would not honor the current warranty. We have 9 other units in our house by another manufacturer and they are still going strong. I can honestly say I would not ever buy a First Alert product again, not if my life depended on it. - (which is does). May 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install Perfect replacement for prior smoke and carbon monoxide detector. March 29, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent price better then the local store This smoke/CO detector was a replacement which was easy to change out. February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product I replaced one of 6 that started beeping. The code said to replace the unit. I ordered online but this unit is sold in the stores. I was surprised to see a First Alert in a box of a different company name...it must be the parent company. May 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good deal This product gave false carbon monoxide alarms after 1 1/2 years of use. Reading reviews on other sites this is a common compliant. I have two of these things and am a female over 70 it is difficult for me to deal with this. May 10, 2014
