The door looks solid enough, but is a bit difficult to install via the security screws that come with it. Instructions say to use a flat screwdriver to install them - but honestly, that is a great deal of work. I would suggest mixing the screws with lag bolts as we did or buying a security screw installer/remover tool. I am a 110lb female and we did get it done - but think even for a huge strong guy - those screws would be a toughie.
The doors appearance is nice and looks a bit more unique than most security doors. Overall - I'd say a good value for the cost of the door.

We're glad we bought the item on sale and the design has nice modern look compared to the other more expensive brands. I thought I will be able to install it on my own but, having to do so would require additional hands and special tool for the bolts thus, I ended having it installed by a handyman instead. I would recommend this product...

I thought it had a screen but it doesn't the online pic make it look as so. My suggestion is the package should state what type of hardware is needed.

Second time I bought this door. It was not completely straight so luckily my contractor was able to take a large board and press it into shape so it would fit. A less experienced person might have returned it. It makes one wonder if Home Depot is getting "seconds" from First Alert since the price is very reasonable. It's a solid door, powder coated and doesn't rust, can be outfitted with dead bolt. Good visibility thru the door. Small bugs can get thru the mesh but not an issue in coastal southern California.

The doors look good and work well. Only issue when my husband was putting them up is that the 'tamper proof' screws were too hard to get in... so we put in regular ones.

I bought this door because of its price and style. It isn't a bad door but its not brilliant either. The expanded mesh isn't small enough to keep out smaller insects - it needs to have a flyscreen installed.
In regards to having this door called a 'security' door - i think thats a stretch. The mounting screws face the outside of the building.....even though these are a one-way screw, Home Depot sells a tool for removing one-way screws so if someone wants to break-in by removing the door, all they need is to buy (or steal) the tool.
The advertised door dimensions do not include the mounting frame dimension, so if you are looking to install this door within a 36" opening, the overall dimensions of this unit is about 38.5".
You will also need some touch-up paint too - if using the above mentioned one-way screw tool, you will find that it slips a lot and scratches the door - i cannot say i am impressed with this.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jake Great product, EXCELLENT value, Home Depot ROCKS! =D
Slightly dented frame, otherwise perfect! Full endorsement!
Recommend using vice-grips on screws, finishing w/ screwdriver... ;-)
Is there an insect screen that fits this door? thanks!

I purchased the black color ones, it looks expensive, I installed it in my rental, renters love it, it is much secure compared to the older one they had becuse of the internal lock, the metal fram is very sturdy, the metal mash net is going to save me future repaire; the high quality look increase the value of the building since it is highly visible right in front of the building
