Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by costa78cupcit Audio is probably one-way only
sergey said that this product features 2-way audio. I interpret that to mean that the camera contains a microphone and a speaker, and the monitoring device contains microphone and speaker, allowing 2-way communication between the person at the monitor and the person at the camera. The product manual contains no indication that the monitoring person can speak to the person that is being monitored.
Perhaps by "2-way" audio sergey meant that two cameras can provide audio input to the monitor.
I did not purchase the product. Because the audio appears to be only 1-way, I probably will not purchase this product unless I purchase a separate intercom system.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EMS Very good, simple and straight forward
After much research, and not really needing remote viewing capability, we decided on the DWS 472. If you want that feature get the DWH 471, also its' monitor is touch screen (this one is buttons). We have multiple dogs and wanted to monitor them, esp. overnight. Baby monitors cost almost as much, don't record, and once you've figured out who's doing what, can't go outside. All the other reviewers are correct. Shipping time was as stated. Set up is easy, video clear. Monitor is mostly self-explanatory. Owner's manual doesn't say if recording takes place while the monitor is turned off. Thanks to the living, breathing customer serv. rep., it does not, but does if put in "power saving" mode. The manual also does not tell you that you can "fast forward" through "event log". Just toggle up on the "navigation ring". Warranty is 1 year. We may get an extra cam just to keep one in the house. Now "Mom" really does have eyes in the back of her head!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Doug Great System! Easy to set up, Reliable and Good Images
These cameras are real outdoor cameras. They have an IP-66 rating and live up to it. They have been out in this New England spring from April to current, mid-June and are doing fine. This Spring it has been very rainy & stormy with a lot of temperature swings from freezing to 90F.
The monitor is relatively easy to set up. Small learning curve, nothing major. Being wireless the monitor can be placed anywhere.
The monitor has an A/V output that can be connected to remote TVs and can viewed in different rooms. The only drawback is that the monitor shuts off when the A/V jack is plugged in, so a local display is also required. I ordered a couple 9” digital TVs with optional A/V inputs for this purpose. Inexpensive and does the trick.
The camera doesn’t connect directly to the internet which is a plus for me, I didn’t want to have to deal with an internet connection anyway. But with the memory card I can check to see what went on using the monitor or a PC. The monitor has a nice set-up to quickly check through the day looking for deliveries etc.
I set my cameras out side of my windows I using a block of wood and all weather Velcro. The camera mount is screwed to the block and the block is attached to the house with the all weather Velcro.
The power wire is fished in through the bottom of the window and plugged into a nearby outlet.
One camera is on a tree. I spliced in some speaker wire from the AC adapter (5VDC output) and its connector and ran it out to a tree. The adapter remained indoors out of the weather. Only the 5VDC runs outside.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hook Good system horrible software
While the system itself is good the software it comes with to read the micro SD card is worthless for court cases or police evidence. With the sect24 media player all the files are in nxt format windows won't recognize it you can't zoom it up or convert it to avi files so your stuck with tiny quad pics I have been searching for a convertor with no success do yourself a favor and get a good IP system

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by votefortrump Better than expected
Signal? My camera is outside app 65 feet from the screen. Excellent picture through distance and 3 standard walls, wood drywall insulation. Great. Camera is under an eave of the detached garage.
For general viewing of an isolated area its great.
When outside even with the least sensitive setting it will record almost always when in the motion setting
Bugs flying by. Wind blowing tree branches, and other things set it off. Day or night. But you can just erase the memory every few days or weeks. If you are going away for 10 days or more get a larger memory card.
Otherwise, easy setup and user friendly. Need outlet for cameras. Also, There is Human support when u call.
Other brands had recorded help with no chance to talk to anyone.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Edward471 Easy Setup and Instructions are straight forward
I should have bought the unit with 4 cameras instead of just the unit with 2 cameras. I liked it so much I ordered 2 additional cameras and it would have been cheaper to order it with all 4.
Easy set up and the instructions are easy to follow.
The only thing I regret and it was my fault I read that I could use it remotely but you cannot be at work and view thru the computer.
The description reads: Operate this surveillance system remotely with the LCD screen control (included with purchase). and I thought I could be at work and operate it thru the computer or remotely but you can't. At least not that I can tell.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rickc A well designed system
I had a Defiant system, without video. The receiver quit
2 1/2 years after purchase (out of warranty). It took me a week to get a response via email and I finally got a current phone #. They offered me a discount on a 1 camera system. With the discounts, it matched the sale prices. I was very irritated that it broke at 2.5 years. Defiant cameras won't work with First Alert.
The First Alert seems to be better quality and have a more user friendly format. The First Alert system is perfectly designed for small business, but is very adaptable for any environment. With the video receiver, I can hide it any place so perps can't find it. That's why I went wireless. Quality made, well designed, and hopefully, lots of longevity.
