Customer Questions & Answers

How do I replace the battery?

Asked by: aquariette
The battery is not in the back, the product pictures (2nd one) clearly show the sliding ' battery drawer' in the front. It is obvious if you are looking at the unit as it is the only piece that is not a part of the overall molded unit.

can this alarm be a compatiable replacement for a first alert Model 9120B?

I currently have a first alert model 9120B which is an ionized smoke and fire alarm. I find it is very sensitive and light cooking seems to set it off and after doing some research I read how Photoelectric alams are not as super sensitive. I wanted to know if this model alarm would be a comparable replacement for the ionized alarm and second because they are interconnected do I need to replace all the alarms? Any information you can provide would be most helpful
Asked by: MikeS
Yes, according to First Alert Model 9120B is compatible with Model 7010B. Just unplug #9120B then plug in #7010B. Both use the same mounting ring as well.

Been up for last month and been quiet, but we did go away on vacation and summertime we use grill more. Matched to beauty ring and plug perfectly. Ordered on line and pickup was easy.

Then tonight going off for no reason again this time saying smoke evacuate when there was no smoke, nothing but a fan running in the room. i do not recommend this product to anyone. and think they should be recalled and reevaluated. the landlord replaced the batteries in them hoping it stop the false alarms. and nothing it did not help. finally 2 smoke detectors later it stopped till now. which was like maybe 4 - 6 months ago. before buying this product. i ask you to imagine yourself asleep at 2am. in a deep sound sleep, relaxed . then all of a sudden you hear the alarms going off. you pretty much fall out of bed, searching for what set the alarm off. finally after running through your house frantically, being wokened in a state of panic you realize it went off for no reason. Now you are now wide awake , on edge. Then if you manage to fall back asleep you lay there wondering if it is going to go off again that night and wonder. well imagine a night like that but then after the first false alarm, roughly 3-5 hours later happening again after falling back asleep. at this point you no longer trust that detector. and every time it goes off after that you ignore it because it is garbage. well this is my reality more than once. and sometimes it happens 1 time a day and then nothing for days, months who knows. then sometimes it happened 2-3 times in a day all hours of the day, evening, night, early morning around 4am ish. waking us out of sound sleeps in a state of panic to find it was false alarm. now we hear it and we shrug it off and shut them up fast as we can because it all goes off at once making a shreiking sound that annoys and hurts my , my animals and families ears.
