I bought this lock because of the good reviews. The lock is installed on the bottom of the patio door, when I pull the lock up to slide the door open, it won't stay up at all. My previous lock worked fine until it finally wore out after many years. Disappointed. Plus I had a professional install the lock.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lou Fairly good product
I had bought one 2 yrs ago and the side pins broke and since I had the hole already made I had to use the same lock.
Overall it does what is supposed to do,
Keep you safe inside.

If you want your sliding door not to be opened by a thief, this is a must. Locks the door well and when you will be gone for a week vacation, use the key so nothing goes in or out of the door. Easy to install.

Lock for sliding door is very well made, works easily. Very secure. Needs a key to open or close. Installs on top edge. My son installed it - no problems with it. A very good buy!

Description/Instructions could have been more detailed. It should have stated that you needed to drill holes in the door and the frame. Overall it was a good product.

The lock works well, though I had to do a little Southern engineering to make it fit the vinyl door due to the lip on the track. Once the receiving hole was right, it works like a charm.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AH Perfect for new construction, or security on any sliding door
This lock when properly installed not only locks a sliding door, but also prevents it from being lifted out of the track. THe device is perfect for new construction on a second floor where a deck is planned for later construction. Under those circumstances code requires a fence or guard be installed across the door opening. THis pf course damages the door frame and siding such that a repair is required when the deck is installed at a later time. Most inspectors will accept this lock as sufficient to meet code as it prevents the door from opening without the key, and it mounts at the top of the door out of reach of children.
